Man accused of cyberstalking ‘prominent’ Republican, DOJ says
A man from Massachusetts, John Anthony Proia III, aged 41, was arrested and charged with cyberstalking a prominent Republican in the Washington, D.C. area.Between August 3 and September 23, he used multiple phone numbers to contact his target at least 40 times, sending disturbing messages to the victim, her husband, and her parents.The case was filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.
A Massachusetts man was arrested and charged on Thursday for allegedly cyberstalking who the Department of Justice says is a “prominent” Republican living in the Washington, D.C., area.
John Anthony Proia III, a 41-year-old resident of Waltham, is accused of using multiple phone numbers to contact his target at least 40 times between Aug. 3 and Sept. 23, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts. The office characterized the messages sent to the victim, her husband, and her parents as “disturbing.”
