Man Accused Of Beating Paul Pelosi Says He’s ‘Sorry’ He ‘Didn’t Get More Of Them’ In Phone Call From Jail

The man accused in the beating Paul Pelosi With a hammer, he made a call to jail on Friday afternoon with which he “apologized” For not getting “more of them.” 

David DePape, 42, has a history of mental illness and made the comments in an a Call Amber Lee, a KTVU reporter, reports on the Release of the body camera Video of the response of the police to the burglary at the Pelosi residence 

“I have an important message for everyone in America. You’re welcome. Freedom and liberty isn’t dying, it’s being killed systematically and deliberately. “I want to apologize to everyone. I messed up. What I did was really bad. I’m so sorry I didn’t get more of them. It’s my own fault, no one else is to blame. I should have come better prepared,” He stated. 

DePape also claimed his freedom of speech was being harmed and pointed to his website, which he claimed contained this information. “stuff they don’t want you to hear.” He made the call from San Francisco County Jail. DePape has Pleading not guilty To charges of attempted murder, assault using a deadly weapon, elder abuse.

DePape has waived his right for a trial within 60-days and is scheduled to appear again in court on February 23.
