Several major cable networks have announced they will not air President Donald Trump‘s election security speech on their live television networks on Thursday evening, instead limiting the address to their digital streaming platforms.

ABC News and NBC News have confirmed to multiple outlets that they have opted against showing the president’s live speech on their cable networks, but will instead have coverage on their digital streaming platforms. Trump is expected to make an announcement focused on election integrity and declassified findings regarding interference in the 2020 election in the Thursday evening Oval Office address.

“ABC News will run President Trump’s speech on ABC News Live and ABC News Radio with comprehensive, anchored coverage. We will also cover the speech in our regular network newscasts and, as always, our Special Report team is fully prepared to break into network programming to deliver live updates and reporting should significant developments occur,” ABC said in a statement.

NBC News said it will provide a livestreamed feed of the speech, set for 9 p.m., on NBC News NOW, its digital streaming service, and plans “to air a special report on the network following the remarks.”

The news comes as Trump’s speech has generated much buzz on both the Left and the Right, with Rep. John Cornyn (R-TX), have called on Trump to focus on the 2026 elections and not look back to 2020.

AOC URGES MEDIA TO CENSOR TRUMP ELECTION SECURITY SPEECH: ‘PLATFORMING OF LIES’

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the media’s apprehension about airing the president’s speech during her first press briefing back from maternity leave on Thursday. She encouraged the networks to air the speech, saying Trump may also discuss the war with Iran and economic matters.

“President Trump is a man of his own word, and he sometimes is thinking about these things up until he walks out, but we have had conversations about him addressing a range of topics, and that could very well be possible tonight,” Leavitt said. “Again, this is all the more reason for all of you to carry the speech live and for the American people to tune in tonight, so they can hear directly from the president and draw their own conclusions.”
