MAGA Inc. sends $10 million to back Paxton in Texas
MAGA Inc., the political action group aligned with President Donald Trump, is allocating $10 million towards television and digital ads to support Republican Ken Paxton in the Texas Senate race. This marks MAGA Inc.’s first significant expenditure in a competitive race for the 2026 election cycle, driven by Republican efforts to boost Paxton amid recent campaign spending disparities, with Paxton’s opponent, James Talarico, outspending him significantly. Trump has pledged to spend approximately $400 million to $500 million on midterm elections, asserting he will spend whatever is necessary to aid Republican candidates. While Trump has endorsed multiple candidates, GOP leaders express concern about the delayed or insufficient outside spending, especially in key races like Texas. the recent spending highlights ongoing tensions within the Republican Party about resource allocation ahead of the November elections.

Paxton, the Texas attorney general and Republican nominee, is facing Democratic state Rep. James Talarico in the race to replace Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), who is retiring after Trump endorsed Paxton during the Republican primary, helping him defeat Cornyn.
“MAGA Inc. is going to ensure Texas knows about Talarico’s radical policies and elects Ken Paxton to the U.S. Senate,” MAGA Inc. spokesman Alex Pfeiffer said in a statement.
Talarico has significantly outspent Paxton on advertising in recent months, putting pressure on Republicans to close the gap as the general election enters its fall stretch. Talarico’s campaign has raised a cumulative $72.0 million compared to Paxton’s $16.8 million.
The $10 million MAGA Inc. investment comes one day after Trump said he planned to spend heavily in the midterm elections. During an Oval Office appearance Friday, Trump said he was prepared to spend “whatever amount of money necessary” to help Republican candidates and said he had roughly $1 billion available through MAGA Inc.
“I’m going to spend whatever amount of money necessary to try and help us,” Trump said, describing the funds as money he controls separately from the Republican National Committee.
Trump also said he expected to allocate roughly $400 million to $500 million for the midterms, though he indicated some funds could be held for future elections.
Republicans had been pressing Trump-aligned groups to invest in Texas as Talarico built a substantial advertising advantage. Paxton himself had called for additional outside spending, saying in August that his campaign needed help competing with Talarico’s television spending.
GOP ANXIETY GROWS THAT TRUMP MIDTERM MONEY WILL BE SPENT TOO LATE — OR NOT AT ALL
Republican leaders have also sounded alarm bells about the lack of outside spending in the race. House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) said this week that members were hoping MAGA Inc. would put its resources to use, arguing that Republican candidates would need the financial support heading into November.
The group’s new Texas spending comes as Trump faces pressure from Republicans to deploy his political war chest across a broader range of competitive races. Trump has endorsed numerous Republican candidates and has indicated he plans to invest heavily in the midterm elections, but MAGA Inc. had made relatively few candidate expenditures before the Texas announcement.
