Madonna hails her children, grateful for life after hospital stay.
Madonna had nothing but praise for her six children’s support after her recent health scare, acknowledging that she’s “lucky” to “be alive” after being hospitalized a month ago.
The 64-year-old international pop icon posted a message on Sunday weeks after a hospital stay for a “serious bacterial infection” after being found unresponsive on June 24, NBC News reported.
“Love from family and friends is the best Medicine,” the “Material Girl” singer captioned her post on Instagram. “One month out of the hospital and I can reflect.”

“As a Mother you can really get caught up in the needs of your children and the seemingly endless giving ……….. But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me,” she added. “I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference. So did the love and support from my friends.”
“If you zoom into this picture I am holding you will see a polaroid taken by Andy Warhol of Keith Haring wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face painted on it,” Madonna continued. “A perfect triangle of Brilliance. Artist who touched so many lives including my own. I sobbed when I opened this gift because I realized how lucky I am to be alive. And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone.”
Madonna closed her post by thanking all her “angels who protected” her and letting her “stay” to finish her work.
She spent several days in the intensive care unit and was forced to postpone the launch of her global tour. Madonna planned to kick off her “Celebration” world tour on July 15 in Vancouver, billed as a celebration of her 40 years in the music industry.
Her manager Guy Oseary explained, at the time, via Instagram. “At this time, we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”
No other details about the tour have been released.
