London primary school invites drag queen to dance in front of 9-year olds

What if a school brought in, for its preteen pupils, a white person dressed up as a grotesque caricature of a black person wearing an Afro wig, blackface, clothing stereotypically associated with blacks?

Exactly.

Yet when a school parades a man dressed as a grotesque caricature of a woman, with bleach-blonde wig, layers of gaudy makeup and prostitute clothing who works as a gender-bending burlesque entertainer, it is a “celebration of diversity.”

Hollymount Primary School in Raynes Park, South London, did just that when they brought in an “entertainer” named “Dolly Trolley” for its “This Is Me” day on Feb. 22. While wearing knee-high boots and a low-cut sequined dress, the transvestite taught a dance to pupils aged nine and read to some younger ones.

Many parents were less than dazzled by the diversity. One woman who has a son and daughter at Hollymount, told The Mail on Sunday: “We are usually told when an outsider will be visiting the school, but on this occasion we were not. … My daughter said she felt weird and didn’t like it. She said a lot of the teachers were pulling funny faces when Dolly came out in a very revealing short beaded dress and thigh-high black leather boots.

“We’ve spoken to both our children and they both said their friends all thought it was weird and inappropriate for their age.”

Dolly Trolley’s website and videos showcase a raunchy act performed in clubs across London and overseas.

The concerned mother went on: “Some of the images are very revealing and sexual. Essentially, they are an X-rated adult entertainer. How is this person a good role model for our kids? Why did the school purposely not tell us about this?”

A spokesman for Merton Council, on behalf of the school and Dolly Trolley, dismissed the issue, saying: “Hollymount School held a themed week to underline its commitment to diversity. Neither the school nor the governors are aware of any formal complaints.”
