Liz Wheeler exposes Marxist influence in US education—Part 1.
Children in America’s public education system are being harmed by radical Marxist theory, and it’s time for us to recognize this in order to secure a better future for our country. Liz Wheeler, the host of The Liz Wheeler Show and author of “Hide Your Children: Exposing the Marxists Behind the Attack on America’s Children,” passionately argues this point.
In an interview with EpochTV’s American Thought Leaders, Wheeler acknowledges that some may view discussing Marxist influence in education as an insult. However, she points out that during the COVID-19 pandemic, parents had a unique opportunity to witness the content of their children’s online courses. They saw a disturbing emphasis on topics like critical race theory, transgender ideology, and moral relativism, which were being instilled in their children’s minds.
As a student of history, Wheeler recognizes that this is not an arbitrary effort but a deliberate, systematic attempt to reshape society. Determined to uncover the masterminds behind this agenda, she wrote her book.
Capturing the Children
Wheeler explains that the left has successfully infiltrated key institutions such as the media, education, religion, and the law, using them to attack the nuclear family. However, one element of the family remains untouched: children. This may explain why the left is now targeting them.
In her book, Wheeler exposes the individuals and institutions responsible for these attacks on America’s children. She reveals that all of them either openly identify as Marxists or embrace Marxist ideology.
Wheeler emphasizes the importance of acknowledging the true nature of these individuals and their ideology. Only by understanding our opponents can we effectively fight against them and protect our children. She wrote her book not only for the sake of the children’s souls but also for the future of our nation. If we surrender our children to the left, America is doomed.
Paulo Freire
Wheeler criticizes the Republican Party for failing to combat the left’s ideological influence on American society. She believes that the Republican Party should be held accountable for their actions and urges them to become effective partners in the fight against the left.
Wheeler points out that many Republican thought leaders struggle to define “woke” culture. However, she has traced the origins of this ideology back to Paulo Freire, a Brazilian Marxist and educational theorist. Freire’s book, “Pedagogy of the Oppressed,” promotes a worldview based on critical consciousness, which aligns with Marxist principles of oppressor versus oppressed.
According to historian Alan Charles Kors, Freire’s work is one of three books that have had a profound impact on the humanities in the United States. It is mandatory reading in many academic institutions across the country.
Freire’s book serves as a political manifesto advocating for the overthrow of capitalist hegemony and the establishment of classless societies. It perpetuates the Marxist belief that the world consists only of oppressors and the oppressed, urging the latter to reject their education and rebel against their circumstances.
Wheeler asserts that “wokeness” is nothing more than critical consciousness viewed through a Marxist lens, and unfortunately, this is what America’s children are being taught.
