Lindsey Graham says he would be ‘open to using U.S. forces to defend Taiwan’

Should we have a prosecution agreement with Taiwan, is the question Congress should be asked. Graham told Fox News on Sunday,” We don’t.” Yes, I would be more than willing to use American forces to defend Taiwan because doing so would benefit our country’s’s protection.

House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul( R-TX ), who recently led a bipartisan delegation to Taiwan, and journalist Aishah Hasnie talked about sending troops there, according to host Shannon Bream. Similar to McCaul, he did not forbid the use of soldiers in Taiwan.

The phrase” Strategic ambiguity is neither working” After Afghanistan, China thinks the store is open, so you can enter and get whatever you want while Biden is watching, according to Graham.

Beijing has asserted its independence over Taiwan and demanded that other countries follow its” One China” insurance ever since the Chinese Civil War. On paper, the United States maintains diplomatic ties with Taiwan despite not publicly recognizing it as a country. Taiwan has its own army, dollar, and government.

Xi Jinping, the president of China, has big discussed reunification with Taiwan, raising worries about a potential conflict. To keep open the possibility of defending Taiwan diplomatically, the U.S. has well maintained a plan of geopolitical ambiguity.

Because Taiwan is a republic, I may be willing to fight for it despite my support for the One China Policy. We’ve’ve been with them for a long time ,” Graham continued. ” I may intensify my preparation and obtain the F-16s they require in Taiwan. There is a holdup. I would get rid of that delay. I did dispatch military personnel to South Korea and Japan.

” I’d’d step up our game.” You will have a battle if you don’t step up your game right away.

Graham has a history of dealing with more pessimistic international policy groups. His comments come after the recent meeting between Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy( R-CA ), which infuriated Beijing.

” No one wants a third world war. What sort of society, though, do you envision for yourself? Do you want to live in a place where China has the potential to conquer Taiwan, where 90 % of the world’s’s high-end chips are produced? Graham continued,” They may have a stranglehold on the modern economy.
