MSNBC host hilariously claims media biased against Biden

This week’s Liberal⁢ Media Scream has⁢ LOL written all over it.

Imagine any ‍cable‌ news show host ⁤claiming ‌that the media has a ‍negative bias ‌against President Joe Biden. LOL, right?

That’s what happened on Sunday’s Meet the Press when MSNBC host ‌Jen Psaki said the media showed ‍its bias ⁢when it simply ⁣repeated what⁣ the nearly 400-page report from special⁣ counsel Robert Hur said about the president’s foggy mind.

Psaki, who was Biden’s first White House press secretary, complained that the media should be⁣ attacking former ⁤President Donald ⁣Trump, not her former‌ boss.

From⁤ the roundtable on Sunday’s Meet ⁤the Press:

JEN PSAKI: If you’re sitting in‍ the White House and on the campaign right now,‍ you’re absolutely banging your head against the wall at the way that⁤ the Thursday report has been covered, given‍ all of the‍ things‌ that have happened this week,⁣ including,⁤ and I know you asked Chris Christie about⁣ this, the fact that Donald Trump⁣ yesterday suggested that Vladimir Putin should have free ⁣rein in ⁤attacking⁣ NATO⁤ allies, and what⁤ do we see is wall-to-wall coverage of whether a ⁣guy who is four years⁣ older than his opponent is ⁣too⁣ old to be president.

KRISTEN WELKER: And we are going to ⁣get⁢ to NATO. Go ahead.

BRENDAN BUCK, former spokesman to ex-speaker Paul Ryan: Part of that job, to bring that to the front is, it’s the⁢ president’s job to‍ bring that out and attack his opponent. I mean, the president⁣ is not taking the opportunity on Super ⁤Bowl Sunday. He’s not⁣ taking, really, any opportunities. And we hear,⁢ time and again —

PSAKI: First of all, that’s⁤ not true. ⁤It’s not being covered.⁣ He has traveled just‌ as much as Donald Trump, as⁣ Barack ‍Obama. It is hard to break through the cloud of Donald Trump in⁣ this media environment. That is true.

Brent Baker,⁤ vice president of research and ⁤publications for ⁤the Media Research Center, explains our weekly pick: “A media hostile to ‍a liberal cause or‍ Democratic ⁢politician is ‌such a‍ novelty that liberal‌ political operatives like⁤ Jen Psaki⁣ just‌ can’t comprehend it. After three-plus years ⁤of sycophantic coverage of Joe Biden, he gets a few days of negative ⁢coverage, and she lashes out at the media for daring to briefly‍ act as real journalists. Welcome to the⁤ world endured every day for decades by conservatives and ‌Republicans.”

Rating: FOUR out of FIVE ‌SCREAMS.

What does Mike Murphy argue about the media’s focus on Biden’s mental fitness?

F Meet the Press:

MIKE MURPHY, REPUBLICAN STRATEGIST: What this shows is ‌not any kind ⁣of news bias‌ against‍ Biden. What it shows is that Trump has an amazing ability to ‌get the media to do⁢ exactly what he wants. And the more he talks about Biden’s mental faculties, the‍ more‌ the media talks about it. And the more they talk about it, the less they talk about Trump’s own mental faculties. And so, in ‍that sense, Trump has been very successful in shaping the media ‌narrative.

JEANNA WRITER, DEMOCRATIC ⁤STRATEGIST: I completely disagree with ⁢that. The media is simply‍ reporting the facts.⁢ We ⁤have ⁢a former special counsel who conducted a ‌comprehensive investigation into Biden’s mental fitness and⁢ found evidence to ⁤suggest that he may be struggling ⁢in that area. It is the ⁢media’s ‌responsibility⁣ to inform the public about ⁣these findings, regardless of‌ whether it aligns with their personal ⁣biases.

MURPHY: But why is there so much focus on Biden’s mental fitness⁣ when⁣ there are other pressing issues that the media could be covering? It just seems like a distraction from the real issues that‍ are affecting the American people.

WRITER: It’s not ⁣a distraction. Mental fitness is a valid concern for any president, regardless of party affiliation. And if there are ‍concerns about Biden’s mental state, it is⁢ important for the public to know about it. The⁢ media is simply doing its job by reporting on this.

MURPHY: But the media could be doing a better job of balancing‌ their coverage. They should be giving ⁢equal weight⁣ to other important issues, like the⁢ economy, ⁢foreign policy, and healthcare. Instead, they⁤ seem to be fixated on Biden’s mental fitness to the⁣ detriment of these other important topics.

WRITER: I understand your point, but I believe that the media⁤ is capable of covering ⁣multiple ⁣issues simultaneously. Just⁤ because they are reporting ⁤on⁣ Biden’s mental fitness does not mean that they are neglecting other important issues.⁣ The media should be able to⁣ walk and chew gum at the same ⁣time.

MURPHY: Well, I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree ‌on this one. But I think⁣ it’s clear that ⁤the media does have a bias against Trump and in favor of Biden.

WRITER: That’s just not true. ⁢The⁤ media is committed to providing fair and unbiased coverage of‍ all ⁤politicians, including Trump and Biden. It is unfair to make broad generalizations about the entire industry based on individual instances of bias. We should hold the media‌ accountable⁣ when they⁣ make⁢ mistakes, but we⁣ should also recognize their‍ important role in our democracy.

From ⁣the Media⁢ Research Center:

This week’s Liberal Media Scream⁤ has LOL written all over it. Imagine any cable news host claiming that the media has a negative ‌bias ‍against President Joe Biden. LOL, right?

That’s what happened on Sunday’s Meet‌ the Press when MSNBC host ⁢Jen Psaki said the media showed its bias when ⁢it simply repeated what the nearly 400-page⁢ report from special counsel Robert Hur said about⁢ the president’s foggy mind.

Psaki, who⁣ was Biden’s first White House press secretary, complained‌ that the media should be attacking former President Donald Trump,⁢ not her former boss.

This‍ interaction on Meet the⁣ Press⁤ is a prime example of the ongoing debate surrounding⁢ media bias. ⁤Both sides of the political spectrum have long accused the ⁢media of bias, whether it’s against ⁢Democrats⁣ or Republicans.

On the one hand, Republican strategist ⁣Mike Murphy argues that the ⁢media’s focus on Biden’s mental fitness is a⁣ distraction ‍from more important‌ issues. ⁤He suggests that the ⁤media is being manipulated by ‍Trump, who consistently brings up Biden’s mental state to divert attention from his own perceived weaknesses. In Murphy’s view, the media should be more balanced in its coverage and give equal weight to other issues ⁣such as the economy, ‍foreign policy, and‌ healthcare.

Democratic strategist Jeanna Writer, on the other hand, believes that the media is⁢ simply reporting ⁣the facts. She argues that ⁢Biden’s mental fitness is a valid ⁤concern and ⁣it is⁤ the media’s responsibility⁢ to‍ inform the‌ public about the findings of the ‌special‍ counsel’s report. Writer emphasizes that the media should be able ⁤to cover multiple issues‍ simultaneously and that ⁢reporting on ⁤Biden’s mental fitness does not mean⁢ neglecting other important topics.

While‍ Murphy and Writer present opposing views, it is important‍ to note⁤ the role of individual biases in shaping their⁢ arguments. Murphy accuses the media of bias ‍against Trump, while Writer defends the media’s ⁣commitment to providing fair ‍and‌ unbiased coverage. Both ⁣viewpoints highlight the complexities surrounding media bias‍ and its ‌impact on public perception.

Ultimately, the debate on media ⁢bias will‍ continue as long as political parties and their supporters hold differing interpretations of coverage. It is crucial for media consumers to critically analyze ⁣news sources, consider multiple perspectives, and remain informed about the issues that affect them most.

As for⁤ Psaki’s ‌comment on Meet the Press, it ‍is a reminder that political figures and media personalities alike will continue ‍to engage in spirited discussions on media bias. And for observers, the‌ inherent irony and humor in such debates may indeed warrant a chuckle ⁤or two –‌ LOL.
