Washington Examiner economics columnist Tiana Lowe Doescher discussed New York Attorney General Letitia James (D), a longtime adversary of President Donald Trump, after she was accused of telling a staffer to target the president.
“I think the thing that’s interesting in the internecine warfare of the Democrats right now, you have these so-called ‘moderate normy liberals’ that are holding on for dear life to the anti-Trump resistance flank,” Lowe Doescher said on Newsmax’s Chris Plante The Right Squad Monday.

Daniel Wiesenfeld, a prosecutor who works in James’s Investor Protection Bureau, said the state attorney instructed him to pursue Trump and his allies without providing context on what grounds.
Wiesenfeld reportedly sent an email to around 2,000 staffers calling out the hypocrisy of James’s actions, according to reporting by the Times Union. Trump has faced heat from both sides of the aisle for unapologetically using former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to target his nemeses, including James, in which the Department of Justice pursued allegations of mortgage fraud.
“If you believe Trump is using [DOJ] attorneys to prosecute his enemies and further his political interests, you should find it equally troubling that Tish [James] is doing exactly the same thing,” the email from Wiesenfeld reads, according to the Times Union.
The prosecutor was placed on “administrative leave with full pay” after the incident.
In the past, James has successfully pursued Trump, his two adult sons, and executives in a $370 million civil fraud case in New York, and was preparing to seize his assets to cover the $354 million fine. An appellate court upheld the ruling but dismissed the hefty fines.

Doescher said Democrats’ only point of attack is to go after the president to distract from turmoil brewing within their own party.
“It’ll be 2032, and they’ll still be doing ‘orange man bad’ just so they don’t need to address the elephant in the room, which is the communism,” Doescher said.
