‘Let the man have one f***ing friend’: Bill Maher defends Trump aide Natalie Harp
Comedian and political commentator Bill Maher defended Natalie Harp, a Trump aide, praising her dedication to her job and her battle with bone cancer that reportedly influenced her support for Trump, who expedited experimental treatments for her. Maher contrasted this with the more severe criticisms Trump has faced from figures like JD Vance and Michael Cohen, highlighting the double standard in political attacks. He also addressed recent criticisms of Harp by Senator Jon Ossoff, noting that her loyalty stems from her personal health struggles. Maher expressed frustration with the harsh political climate, advocating for some compassion, and criticized the tendency to dismiss or attack allies without understanding their personal stories.
Comedian and political commentator Bill Maher defended President Donald Trump and his top aide, Natalie Harp, praising her for being “devoted to her job.”
“I don’t know why you have to go after her, you know. She seems incredibly devoted to her job, never takes a day off,” Maher said on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday. “Sometimes she works so hard she forgets to eat and sleep, and now everyone in America is saying the same thing: ‘Why can’t I get a millennial that works like that?’”

Harp has recently drawn criticism from Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA), when the senator made a dig at the relationship between Trump and Harp, noting that she was one of the few people to board a separate plane from other Cabinet members in Turkey.
“But you know, in America, it’s just like, ‘Oh, good, someone new to hate,’” Maher said.
Maher said Harp’s relationship with Trump stemmed from her battle with bone cancer.
“She likes Trump because he speeded up experimental treatments, which she believes helped her,” Maher said.
Maher contrasted the criticism of Harp with the more serious criticism Trump has faced from people in his own orbit, including Vice President JD Vance and former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.
TRUMP CALLS JON OSSOFF ‘PEE-WEE HERMAN’ IN RESPONSE TO NATALIE HARP COMMENTS
“Remember Michael Cohen, his fixer, who once called Trump a cheater, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, and a con man,” Maher said. “His own vice president, Vance, once said he might be America’s Hitler. His secretary of state, Rubio, at the debate, made fun of his dick size.”
“Let the man have one f***ing friend,” Maher said.
