Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert Clears Up Parentage Rumors with DNA Test
Fiery Colorado congresswoman Lauren Boebert has put to rest rumors about her parentage by taking a DNA test that ruled out former professional wrestler Stan Lane as her father. Boebert’s mother, Shawn Roberts Bentz, had previously sought court recognition of Lane as her daughter’s father, but a court-ordered paternity test determined otherwise.
“I can confirm that Stan Lane is not my biological father,” Boebert said in a statement provided to The Daily Beast.
“I personally have never publicly claimed he was my father — but certainly, that allegation is out there.”
Boebert expressed regret that Lane had been wrongly accused and attacked, and even found some humor in the situation, joking that the Toby Keith song “Who’s Your Daddy” hits differently now.
Boebert’s Mother Seeks Further Inquiry
After the initial court-ordered paternity test, Boebert’s mother sought further court inquiry into the matter due to concerns about the deceased phlebotomist responsible for the test’s involvement in other misconduct in paternity cases. However, Boebert and Lane agreed to settle the matter once and for all with another DNA paternity test in May 2023, which conclusively proved that Lane had a 0.0% chance of being Boebert’s biological father.
