Laura Ingraham sat in on the Fauci hearing — her reactions say it all
During a congressional hearing, Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham observed Dr. Anthony Fauci’s testimony regarding his actions during teh COVID-19 pandemic. Ingraham’s visible reactions, including eye-rolling, blinking, and facial expressions, reflected frustration and skepticism, particularly towards Fauci’s repeated invocation of the Fifth Amendment, which led him to refuse answering many questions. She criticized Fauci for appearing more concerned with celebrity status than medical advice and posted comments on X mocking his responses. The hearing also addressed issues of clarity related to Fauci’s personal diary and discrepancies between his private records and public statements. Fauci faced criticism over his leadership of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, his public health recommendations, and his decisions during the pandemic.
Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment for every question thrown his way, including what color his tie was and what color the carpet in front of him was, amounting to more than 100 times throughout the hearing.
Ingraham was visibly irritated during the testimony, as evidenced by repeated eye rolling, excessive blinking, glaring, subtle nods and head shakes, a brief chuckle, an overall expression of displeasure, and other noticeable facial reactions.
Some of her reactions were to arguments that Fauci was more involved or interested in being a celebrity during the pandemic than in providing sound medical advice.
Ingraham also posted on X throughout the hearing, taking aim at Fauci’s repetition in invoking the Fifth Amendment.
“Maybe Sen Paul should have had Julia Roberts ask the questions,” one post reads. “Fauci liked talking to her.”
The post pokes fun at a 2020 interview, in which actress Julia Roberts talked to Fauci as part of the One Campaign’s #PassTheMic initiative.

She discussed his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and the global response to the virus. Roberts also hailed Fauci as a “personal hero” for his public health work.
The hearing on Wednesday also focused on Fauci’s personal diary, raising questions about transparency, including what information he may have been aware of but did not publicly disclose, and whether his private records were consistent with his public testimony.
