Larry O’Connor: If There Isn’t a Deep State, Why Does the Deep State Keep Acting Like a Deep State?

Wow, it sure looks like Washington DC is run by a deep-state that wants to use its power to reward one faction of the political elite and punish another. 

Oh, I’m sure, I know. It is conspiracy theory stuff to suggest that there is a Deep State. If the Deep State is trying to convince us otherwise, it might be time for them to stop doing Deep State stuff. 

Charles McGonigal (ex-FBI counterintelligence chief for the Southern District of New York) was arrested on charges that he violated US sanctions against Oleg Deripaska, a Russian oligarch.

This is a terrible thing on its own, but if you look at the Deep State Deep State-iness behind all of it, you will see that this guy was a crucial part of Operation Crossfire Hurricane.

Operation Crossfire Hurricane was an FBI counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign for Russian collusion during 2016’s presidential election. The FBI counterintelligence investigation was launched into the Trump administration. This investigation led to Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation. To find out Trump’s criminal collusion with Russia and coordination with them to take over the White House. 

Steele Dossier, the most important piece of evidence to support all these Trump investigations (and even to trigger super secret FISA spying orders on innocent American citizens such as Carter Page), was the key piece. This collection of documents was compiled by Christopher Steele (ex-MI6 agent), which purportedly shows direct connections between Trump White House participants and Vladimir Putin, the Russian government and Russian oligarchs. 

Anyone who has been following the Deep State Deep Staters knows that the whole Russian collusion story was a hoax. The Steele dossier was a fake piece of opposition research that Hillary Clinton paid for.

You’ll also know that Oleg deripaska, a Russian oligarch, was one of the main sources for the Steele dossier. It’s the same oligarch who this FBI counterintelligence agent was now linked to.

You are familiar with the way conservatives can be seen wandering through the wilderness screaming at anyone listening that the left accuses them of doing the exact same thing.

How does the left call conservatives racist and give people the Margaret Sanger lifetime achievement prize, named after a woman whose primary goal was to eliminate the black race using Planned Parenthood’s cozy new euphemism?

That’s exactly what I meant. They call us racists while they celebrate the murder of black babies.

Here’s another shining example. They accused Donald Trump with Russian collusion. It was a hoax. They claim anyone supporting Donald Trump does Vladimir Putin’s heavy lifting. Any journalistic work that points out the real and reprehensible Hunter Biden laptop scandal is accused by them of supporting Russian propaganda or disinformation. They accuse all of the Republican Party of being a wing or Putin, and Russian oligarchs.

Now, we discover that the Russian oligarch was actually the chief investigator of the whole Russian collusion hoax.

This story comes only a few weeks after we learned that James Baker was one of the leading attorneys at the Justice Department during Russia collusion hoax investigations. He left the agency to work for Twitter, and became one the most prominent voices at that social media giant, responsible for the censorship the Hunter Biden laptop story. Because he was able to convince Twitter’s leadership and all others who would listen, that the Hunter Biden laptop story must be Russian disinformation, he participated in the censorship and suspension of legitimate news stories. It couldn’t be! 

James Baker worked for the FBI and the DOJ investigating Donald Trump for Russian collusion. The next day, he was working for Twitter to silence the New York Post reporting on a legitimate news story, as he claimed that it was Russian disinformation.

No, there isn’t a Deep State. There is none.

It would be much more beneficial if the Deep State didn’t act like one.
