Larry Hogan labels himself an ‘underdog’ in video, following his statement on considering a third-party run.

Former Maryland GOP Gov. Larry Hogan: An⁣ Underdog’s Journey

Former ⁣Maryland⁣ GOP Gov. Larry Hogan⁢ released an ‍advertisement video on ⁣Tuesday, a ‌day after claiming a‌ third-party run ⁢for⁢ any candidate would be an‍ “uphill climb” ⁤but worth trying.

The minute-long video showcases Hogan’s remarkable⁢ achievements in ⁤Maryland,⁢ despite being consistently underestimated⁢ by the public. It ‌emphasizes⁢ his ability to garner ⁤bipartisan ⁢support ⁣as ⁤a Republican governor ⁢in ⁣a predominantly left-leaning state.

Defying ⁣the ‍Odds

“I’ve always been an⁤ underdog,⁣ and ⁢people⁣ have always⁣ counted ‍us ⁣out, but‍ every single time⁤ we’ve beaten the odds,” Hogan ‍tweeted alongside ‍the ⁢video.‌ “If we can accomplish all we did in Maryland,⁤ then ⁢there’s ‍no ‌place in⁢ America where ‌these very same principles cannot succeed.”

Hogan, who currently⁤ serves⁤ as a⁣ co-chairman for the third-party political organization ⁤No Labels, ‌clarified‌ that⁢ he ⁢does not⁢ intend ‍to run for ⁤president as a ⁤third-party ⁣candidate.‍ However, ⁤he acknowledged that⁢ if someone were⁣ to pursue ⁢such ‍a‍ path,⁤ it would ⁤be a‍ challenging ⁣endeavor‌ to secure the‌ White House,‌ yet‍ still worth attempting.

“But⁤ the goal of No⁤ Labels [is] they have‍ no⁢ interest in being a ‍spoiler. They don’t⁢ want ⁣to try to‌ hand ‌the‌ White⁤ House ‌to⁤ either [President] Joe ‌Biden⁤ or ‍to [former⁣ President] Donald Trump,” Hogan told⁢ ABC ⁤News.‌ “But I⁢ can tell you that, you know, if we ⁤get ⁢into next spring ⁤and‍ those are the nominees⁢ and most people⁣ in America do not ‌want⁢ that,‍ then there’s⁢ certainly ‌this possibility.”

No Labels: Bridging⁤ the Divide

No ⁢Labels supports ⁤centrist candidates‍ from⁤ both major‌ political parties who are considering⁣ a potential ⁤White House run. The organization has announced‍ its‌ intention⁣ to endorse a ⁣bipartisan ticket of moderates⁣ for the Oval Office in 2024. ⁤Notably, ‌Senator ‌Joe Manchin (D-WV) ⁤was‌ a prominent figure ⁢at⁤ Monday’s event,⁤ although he clarified that ⁣he was not present as a potential‍ presidential candidate.

Hogan⁣ briefly contemplated‍ running ⁣for the Republican nomination ‌next ⁢year but‌ ultimately ⁣decided‍ against it.‍ Despite ⁣leaving the⁣ governor’s‍ mansion⁤ earlier this ⁣year due ⁣to‌ term‍ limits, he has ‌chosen not ‌to⁢ pursue‍ a Senate run ‍in the‍ upcoming elections.

While Hogan⁢ has not officially endorsed ‍a specific candidate‌ for‌ the Republican nomination,⁣ he ‌has confirmed ⁤that he would ⁢support Trump if he secures ⁢the ⁣nomination.
