Kurt Schlichter: Red States Need to Stop Letting Academia Flip Us Off

Federalism’s beauty lies in the fact that we patriots can be nominally in control of some states. California, New York and Massachusetts are communist hellholes. The communists responsible for those hellholes want policies that will ensure their communist hellholedom. But good gravy, why are so many red states where we conservatives have the governor’s mansion and the legislature, and therefore the car keys to floor it on conservative policy, so damn spineless that we refuse to carve out the tumors of communist hellholedom that threaten to metastasize throughout our red paradises?

Although there are many of these infected institutions, we will focus our attention on one. This is because it infects young people who will eventually take up leadership positions in society. (That they primarily come primarily from colleges is yet another problem). The truth is that even in red states, state universities indoctrinate students using CRT garbage. They also build DIE infrastructures to perpetuate wokedom and crush those who long to live and learn free. We could stop it with a quick snap of our collective fingers. Yet, Republicans seem afraid at the thought that they might offend the ragged collection TAs and tweed-jacketed administrators, craven, cat fancying administrators, and daddy issues-smitten purple haired coeds who seem o be running our colleges.

Our colleges. Ours. They were built by taxpayers. They are paid for by us, taxpayers. We, the taxpayers, should control how they work. Why won’t we?

First, “we” Ron DeSantis is not included. The guy at the cutting edge of crushing CT just gave all Florida’s public colleges a quick fuse to give them a report on their woke web activities and organizations. The university eunuchs panicked, but claimed that this was just the beginning of eradicating the government-funded woke facism plaguing Sunshine State academia. Diversity consultants could be fired and conformity enforcement teams cut, and kangaroo courts may be adjourned. 

Yeah. Exactly. He’s going to destroy their dreams. It will be beautiful.

They should be able to see the positive side of things and rejoice in the achievements of Our Democracy. We were told – by them and their allies endlessly over the last couple of years – that Our Democracy is facing the most perilous of perils. It’s not true! Heavy D ran on a platform of nuking woke and he’s simply giving the people what they wanted by about 20 percentage points.

So why are they so hateful of Our Democracy? Basically, if you don’t want him and his legislators to decree the policies the people have demanded – that not one red cent gets spent on this racist commie nonsense – then you are an insurrectionist of treason who hates America.

Oh, wait! They’re totally into that last part.

The Governor of the Falling Frozen Iguana State is also replacing the board of trustees of a super-liberal public college with people who don’t hate normal Americans, and that has the freakshow fuming. Yahoo News, the regime media outlet put it: “DeSantis takes aim at Sarasota’s New College, transforms board in conservative overhaul.” He sure did! He was joined by Christopher Ruto (CRTslayer) and a Hillsdale College professor. They are most upset at the idea of classes that actually teach history, literature, and knowledge, rather than waking intersectional mind goo. And too bad for them – there’s not a damn thing they can do about it.

The other red governors are not on board with this. Greg Abbott refuses to take a break from not using his cops or soldiers to secure Texas’s border. Instead, he demands his legislature defund the police haters as well as the rest who run Lone Star University. Texas’ joke is that UT has BBQ and that it is Berkeley. Stop using CRT, fire all diversitycrats, make sure that administrator ranks are slashed, and that faculty hires include equal numbers of patriots. These are our states, and we shouldn’t be supporting the efforts of those who would enslave us.

However, even soft Republicans are resistant to imposing their strict discipline on the academia. Why? Well, one reason is that the regime media will call them mean and they don’t like that. Or worse, the regime media might say that they hate education. They should not hate education. At least, the image being imposed on today’s youth. It’s not education. It’s a joke. There are zero excuses for a guy who sweats it out on an oil rig in the Permian Basin wringing oil out of the dirt under the blazing sun getting dunned by the state for tax money that then goes to underwrite some nose-pierced princess’s degree in Marxist puppetry. Or Marxist interpretive dance. Or any Marxist other than how to end Marxism forever.

There is, however, a willful refusal by many Buick Republican to understand that college isn’t the same as their old school. Nostalgia, however, is a great drug. They remember their fraternities and sororities, their gentleman’s C grades, lots of Budweiser, and making out in the bushes around the quad. The college experience has been swept away by political correctness and strict, state-controlled thought control. They don’t get that the Lamda Lamda Lamdas, Omega Mus They aren’t attending toga parties, but must be trained on microaggressions and their privilege as well as the horror of patriarchy. Sure, it’s still fun to watch football, but tailgating before the big game against the University of College is where the similarity to their college years ends. Colleges are not educational institutions that create educated citizens. They are conformity factories for commies, run on our dime.

This must end in our country. But it must also stop in the red state. It is a betrayal by the citizens of these countries, who are expected and required to pay for it. They want workers who can contribute to society, not destroy it. It’s a betrayal of the few professors who want to teach students instead of converting them into CRT cliché- spewing automatons. And it’s a betrayal of the kids who just want to get a real degree and maybe score a little action without having to get a notarized certificate of consent before rounding second base.

Red state leaders, get on it! Ron DeSantis has made most of you look like ineffectual saps again.
