Man Arrested for Kidnapping 9-Year-Old Girl
A 46-year-old man is behind bars in Saratoga County jail after being arrested in connection with the kidnapping of 9-year-old Charlotte Sena. The arrest took place on Monday, and the suspect, Craig Ross, was charged with first-degree kidnapping.
According to the Albany Times-Union, Ross was arraigned in Milton Town Court early Tuesday and is currently being held without bail. The incident occurred when Charlotte went missing while her family was at Moreau Lake State Park, located about 45 miles north of Albany. An Amber Alert was issued for her on Sunday.

New York State Police, who were monitoring the family’s home, witnessed a man placing a ransom note in their mailbox. Governor Kathy Hochul stated that the suspect drove up to the mailbox at 4:20 a.m. assuming the family was not home. In a critical mistake, he left his own fingerprint on the ransom note.
Law enforcement began examining the note for fingerprints and found a match to Ross, who had previously been arrested for a driving under the influence charge in Saratoga County in 1999. The breakthrough came when police matched the prints on the note to Ross while searchers were combing the woods of the state park.
Later that day, police conducted raids on locations connected to Ross, including a mobile home where his mother resides and a nearby trailer where Charlotte was found. The girl was discovered in a cabinet and was immediately rescued.
