Kevin Costner’s wife claims he’s hiding financial information during their divorce.
Kevin Costner’s Divorce Drama Continues
Kevin Costner’s divorce drama is still going strong as estranged wife Christine accused the actor of “withholding” financial information ahead of a court hearing on child support.
The Divorce Announcement
The former handbag designer, 49, and the “Yellowstone” actor, 68, announced they were divorcing in May after being married for 18 years. They have three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.
Financial Information Requested
Court documents filed this week show how Christine petitioned the court to compel her ex to produce documents related to his business dealings, including upcoming entertainment projects, per a report from People.
“[Kevin] has requested a multi-day evidentiary hearing on [Christine’s] request for child support, at which time the Court will receive evidence regarding [Kevin’s] gross cash flow available for support and anticipated future income. [Kevin] has also requested a trial to determine the validity of the parties’ Premarital Agreement, the unconscionability of which will depend on an analysis of how the terms of that agreement compare to the parties’ present financial realities,” Christine’s lawyer wrote in the document.
“The Court will need to receive evidence regarding those circumstances to make its determination. However, [Christine] will be unable to present any evidence that [Kevin] has chosen to withhold from discovery,” the attorney wrote.
Child Support Dispute
Christine had requested $248,000 per month in child support in June. Despite Costner’s income being a reported $20 million, the actor disputed the request and said he could not afford that amount.
Allegations of Withholding Documents
Costner has been actively promoting his new Western series, “Horizon,” which was mentioned in the documents.
The attorneys asked for details on the upcoming project “as such documents evidence his future endeavors and anticipated income.” They accuse the actor of “withholding” this paperwork in particular.
The “Yellowstone” actor’s attorney responded to the request, the outlet noted, calling it “burdensome, oppressive and harassing.”
“These documents have no bearing on Christine’s request for child support and her ability to calculate Kevin’s gross cash flow available for child support,” an attorney for Costner wrote of the request.
Financial Settlement
Christine is entitled to a $1.5 million payout per the premarital agreement and was temporarily awarded $129,755 per month in child support in July.
