Kate Moss Takes Stand, Contradicts Heard Testimony Suggesting Depp Threw Model Down Stairs

Supermodel Kate Moss said on the stand Wednesday that ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp never pushed her down any stairs, seemingly contradicting testimony from Depp ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp is suing Heard for defamation concerning domestic violence allegations he claims significantly hurt his Hollywood career.

“We were leaving the room, and Johnny left the room before I did, and there had been a rainstorm,” Moss recalled on the stand, discussing a Jamaican vacation she took with Depp during the 1990s. “And as I left the room, I slipped down the stairs and I hurt my back.”

“And I scream … because I didn’t know what happened to me,” Moss continued, speaking via videoconference. “I was in pain and he [Depp] came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”

“Did Mr. Depp in any way push you down the stairs?” Depp lawyer Ben Chew asked the model.

“No,” Moss responded.

“During the course of your relationship, did he ever push you down any stairs?”

“No,” she said. “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs.”

Moss’ quick, clean testimony was not challenged by Heard’s team, which turned down an opportunity to cross-examine the model.

Depp’s team was looking forward to getting Moss on the stand, The Daily Wire reported earlier this week. According to a report from the New York Post, the actor’s legal team was spotted “fist-pumping” when Heard brought up Moss on the stand earlier this month, seemingly suggesting that Depp had pushed Moss down a staircase.

“I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs, and I swung at him,” Heard said while testifying, telling the jury why she hit Depp during the alleged 2015 incident.

“Amber mentioned an ex of Johnny’s that clearly she felt was not supportive of him, which couldn’t be further from the truth,” a source told the Post following Heard’s testimony.

Fox News reported that Moss and Depp’s relationship had a “rocky start.”

“The pair’s romance got off to a rocky start with Depp getting arrested for trashing the Mark Hotel during a fight with Moss in 1994,” the report said, adding, “The charges were dropped, but the actor had to pay $10,000 in damages. The two never spoke publicly about the incident.”

The model told Vanity Fair in 2012 “that after their split she missed him and there were ‘years and years of crying,’” Fox noted.

The pair are reportedly still “good friends.”

Other women who’ve had relationships with Depp have defended the actor, including French singer Vanessa Paradis, the mother of Depp’s two children and former partner of 14 years.
