Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass claimed her family is “doing much better” in the aftermath of the break-in to her official residence last week that resulted in an arrest of a 29-year-old man.

Bass, her daughter, son-in-law, and newborn grandson were all home at the time of the break-in. While neither member of her family was injured, the suspect received treatment for some minor injuries from breaking a glass door to get in. The mayor appeared on State of the Union on Sunday to offer an update since the incident.

“It was definitely very, very disturbing, especially with the family there, but he was captured on site so we are doing much better,” Bass said.
