Judge Walsh criticizes NY case against Trump as ‘absurd,’ vows to dismiss it promptly
Matt Walsh, the host of “JUDGED by Matt Walsh,” criticized the hush-money case against ex-President Trump as absurd and advocated for its dismissal. Walsh, speaking on “In the Arena” with Benny Johnson, expressed willingness to handle the case swiftly in his courtroom if given the chance, citing the commonality of such practices in politics. In an interview on ”In the Arena” with Benny Johnson, Walsh stated his readiness to quickly resolve the case if it were brought to his courtroom, highlighting the prevalence of such practices in politics.
Daily Wire host Matt Walsh, the newly minted judge on “JUDGED by Matt Walsh,” said on Thursday that the hush-money criminal case against former President Donald Trump is “absurd” and should be dismissed.
Walsh joined conservative podcast host Benny Johnson on his show “In the Arena” and said that, given the opportunity, he would “gladly” take up the former president’s New York case in his own courtroom and deliver a quick ruling.
“I’d gladly take the case and then just dismiss it right away. I’d be quite happy to step in if they would give it to me. Obviously, the case is absurd. … Catching and killing a story is very common. Politicians have been doing it forever,” Walsh said, referring to the charges against Trump alleging that he falsified business records to cover up an alleged affair with porn actress Stormy Daniels.
“If what Trump did here rises to the level of a felony, it’s serious enough that we should try to put a former president in jail, well then every former president alive today should be in jail,” Walsh added. “Many other politicians should be sitting in jail. And I think we all understand that.”
Walsh then blasted those bringing the case against Trump, such as Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
“The worst thing about this — this is all by design obviously — there’s just no chance that Trump is getting a fair trial. He can’t. It’s, like, impossible, and it would be impossible even if they were trying to give him a fair trial, which they aren’t,” the Daily Wire host said, adding, “The whole thing is just a total farce.”
The two conservative commentators then discussed Walsh’s new court comedy series. Johnson said he grew up watching shows like “Judge Judy” and “Judge Joe Brown.”

“Your show is much better and much more entertaining,” Johnson said.
“Well, I appreciate that,” Walsh replied. “Of course, it’s not meant to be entertaining. We’re offering serious legal analysis in this show. That’s the way I try to look at it anyway. I think most people look at it as entertainment, and we were trying to create something that is entertaining for people that isn’t necessarily political. I think there’s a lesson you could find in every case, but we’re not necessarily hitting you over the head with it.”
