Texas has been ordered by a judge to reduce border security, as requested by the Biden administration.

Federal Judge ‌Orders Texas to Weaken Border Security

On Wednesday, a federal judge essentially ordered the ⁤state of Texas to⁢ weaken its security along the U.S.-Mexican border, per President Joe Biden’s ‍Department ‍of Justice’s request.

Senior U.S. District Court Judge David Ezra ordered Texas officials to remove floating barriers in the Rio Grande that Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) installed to slow down the deluge of illegal aliens flooding⁢ the country under Biden. The federal government sued the state. The⁢ feds⁤ argued that the gigantic buoys ⁣blocked waterway navigability in violation of U.S. law,⁣ and were placed in the river without permission. Ezra agreed ‍with that ⁢assessment and said⁣ that Texas’ claim of ‌an “invasion” was irrelevant.

“The Court has found that the United States is ‌likely to succeed on the merits of its claim that Defendants have violated [the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899],” Ezra ‌wrote, according to The Dallas Morning News. “The Court also ‌finds that Texas’s conduct ⁣irreparably harms the public safety, navigation, and the operations of federal ‍agency officials ⁣in and around‌ the Rio Grande.”

The Abbott administration had previously argued that the ‌Rivers and Harbors Act shouldn’t ‌apply because that particular part of the Rio Grande is too‌ shallow for boats and other vessels to navigate.

In response to Wednesday’s ruling, the Texas governor pledged to fight it.

”This ruling is incorrect and will be overturned on appeal,” Abbott said ⁤ in a statement. “We will continue to ⁣utilize every strategy to secure ‍the border, including deploying‍ Texas National‍ Guard⁤ soldiers and Department of Public Safety troopers and installing strategic barriers.”

Abbott⁤ isn’t just facing ⁢pushback from his own government for these barriers. Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador condemned Abbott for his‌ actions.

“No one should be treated like this,” Lopez Obrador said last month. “That kind of treatment⁣ does ⁤not come from a good person;‍ only by being good can we be ‌happy.”

Maybe Lopez Obrador should‌ recognize that no nation‌ should be treated the way ‌the Biden administration and Mexico treat America. A country can’t survive ⁣without⁢ a strong⁢ border, and Biden’s entire administration seems intent‍ on keeping it as wide open as possible.

Of course, the real solution to this madness will be to deport the millions upon millions of illegal aliens who currently reside in the country — and then build the wall while ‍propping up more barriers like Abbott has done. That will never happen under a Democratic president.

For now, one has to wonder why the Biden administration didn’t simply give Texas approval to install these features post hoc. It’s not that much of a mystery actually. It ⁤seems obvious it’s because the ⁤Biden team⁤ has no ‌desire to ‍protect American sovereignty. They have effectively ‍abdicated duty‍ entirely.

Abbott also promised to build more guardrails and to defend Texas’ land.

“We will continue to utilize every strategy to secure the border, including deploying Texas National Guard soldiers and Department of⁣ Public‌ Safety troopers and installing strategic barriers,” Abbott said Wednesday.‌ “Our battle to defend Texas’ sovereign authority to protect ⁢lives from the chaos ‍caused⁤ by President Biden’s open border policies ⁣has only begun.‌ Texas is prepared to take this fight all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.”

Maybe once Biden and his bipartisan gang stop shelling out billions for Ukraine ⁤borders, they will focus on America’s border.

Until then, hats off to Abbott for the creative solutions and cojones to fight in court.
