Judge extends ban on tree removals at East Potomac Golf Links
A federal judge has temporarily halted the Trump management from removing additional trees at the East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D.C., until October 26. Judge Ana C. Reyes, appointed by President Biden, issued the restraining order after the removal of hundreds of trees over the weekend, which was part of a renovation project sought by Donald Trump. An emergency complaint filed by the DC Preservation League prompted a court hearing, during which the judge criticized the Department of Justice, stating that the tree removals damaged the government’s credibility in the ongoing lawsuit.
