Johnny Depp Cracks Up When Disney Exec Gets Asked About ‘One Million Alpacas’ For Reprising ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Role

Johnny Depp was caught on camera laughing when a Disney executive referenced his previous comment about never returning to “Pirates of the Caribbean,” even for “$300 million and a million alpacas.”

The moment happened as part of a pre-recorded deposition of a Disney executive that was played during court Thursday in the ongoing $50 million defamation trial Depp brought against ex-wife Amber Heard.

During the clip, Tina Newman, who works on the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, was asked about whether Depp could potentially return for the sixth installment, The Independent reported

“Do you know whether Mr. Depp is being considered for a role in ‘Pirates’ 6?” Heard’s lawyer asked.

“I don’t know one way or another,” Newman replied, saying the “decision does not fall within my job responsibilities. It’s above my pay grade.”

The lawyer said, “Is Disney aware that Mr. Depp has testified under oath that he would not take another ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise role for $300 million and a million alpacas?”

To that, Newman answered, “No.”

Heard’s lawyer continued, asking if the studio was planning to “[pay] Mr. Depp more than $300 million and [provide] him with more than a million alpacas to be able to obtain his services for any future ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ role.”

To that, the Disney employee responded “No.”

Depp and his lawyer Camille Vasquez were seen bent over and laughing during the exchange.

It’s not the first time a Disney employee has referenced the new “Pirates” film. The Daily Wire previously reported that while speaking with The Sunday Times, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said he wasn’t sure about Depp’s inclusion, but there are no plans to bring him back for now.

“Not at this point. The future is yet to be decided,” the producer told the Times when asked if the actor would be part of the movie.

Depp brought the case against Heard largely because of lost revenue after being let go from the franchise. Captain Jack Sparrow is considered to be the most popular character in “Pirates of the Caribbean” and some fans are saying future movies are pointless without him.

The actor was offended when Disney dropped him based on Heard’s original claims of abuse.

“Captain Jack Sparrow was a character I built from the ground up and was something that I, of course, put a lot of [myself] into the character and also having worked on these films with these people and added much of myself, much of my own re-writing of the dialogue and scenes and jokes,” he said, per Movieweb. “I didn’t quite understand how, after that long relationship and quite a successful relationship certainly for Disney, that suddenly I was guilty until proven innocent.”

(Disclosure: The Daily Wire has announced plans for kids entertainment content.)
