John Kennedy criticizes ‘Bidenomics’ as voters show discontent with economy.
Sen. John Kennedy Slams Biden’s Economic Policies
Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) strongly criticized President Joe Biden’s economic policies, arguing that citizens should not have to resort to early withdrawals from their retirement accounts just to afford groceries. Kennedy’s remarks come in the wake of a recent Rasmussen poll, which revealed that only 37% of voters view the economy as good or excellent. Speaking on Fox News’s The Faulkner Focus, Kennedy summarized “Bidenomics” as ”bigger government, more spending, and higher prices.”
Concerns Over Biden’s Economic Approach
“I’m also sorry that the American people are going through Bidenomics. Bidenomics is pretty simple, it is just bigger government, more spending, and higher prices. And I’ve said this before, in Louisiana, inflation is gutting my people like a fish. My people are getting really good at barely getting by. And in America you shouldn’t have to take an early distribution from your retirement account or sell blood plasma in order to go to the grocery store,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy further criticized President Biden’s understanding of the situation, stating, “President Biden is out there saying prices are high and your 401k is crashing because the economy is so good. He just doesn’t get it. And that’s why he is polling up there right up there with — I don’t know, with a fungal infection.”
Inflation as a Threat to the American Dream
The Louisiana Republican also referred to inflation as a ”cancer on the American dream” and attributed Biden’s declining popularity to it. ”Even if inflation goes to zero tomorrow, we are still going to be stuck with these higher prices, which are a direct result of President Biden’s economic policy. And do the people around the White House get it? I think some get it but they can’t defend it. Others just feel like their favorite form of spending which is causing this inflation is more. And they don’t get it. But either way, this inflation is a cancer on the American dream,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy emphasized that inflation is the primary factor contributing to Biden’s unpopularity, stating, “I know President Biden wants to change the subject in the election to President Trump and his indictments but if you ask me to single out one thing that is causing President Biden, as I said, to be about as popular as robocalls, it is inflation.”
The White House has been promoting Biden’s economic policy as part of his 2024 reelection campaign, but the Rasmussen poll indicates that voters remain skeptical. According to the poll, 47% of voters rate the economy as “poor.”
Biden recently visited Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as part of his ongoing efforts to promote “Bidenomics” in preparation for the upcoming presidential election.
