Joe Concha says media bias against Trump is ‘painfully obvious’

Joe Concha, a Washington Examiner senior writer, said media bias against President Donald Trump is “painfully obvious,” citing a recent snapshot of Mediaite – where he once worked – that showed 11 homepage stories about Trump, 10 negative and one neutral. Appearing on fox’s life, Liberty, and Levin, he argued that democrats are rarely portrayed negatively likewise and criticized outlets like the New York Times and Washington post. The piece notes Ad Fontes media ranks Mediaite moderately left (-8.85) and cites a Media Research center finding that ABC, CBS, and NBC’s coverage of Trump’s first 100 days was 92% negative. The article also outlines long-running tensions between the Trump management and the press, including skipped events, disputes with the AP, and talk of hiring additional stenographers to transcribe the president.

Joe Concha says media bias against Trump is ‘painfully obvious’

Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha lamented the negative coverage of President Donald Trump while “Democrats are almost never cast in a negative light.”

Concha appeared on Fox News’s Life, Liberty, and Levin on Sunday to lament that Mediaite, a news site he wrote for about 10 years ago, has swung so far to the left since he worked there.

“It’s painfully obvious when you go to MEDIAite, for example, I wrote for them — in full disclosure — about a decade ago, but it was a different site then. I just looked this past Thursday, just randomly [at] 1 in the afternoon: I saw 11 stories on Trump on its homepage. Ten were profoundly negative, one was relatively neutral, zero were positive,” Concha said.

“Meanwhile, Democrats are almost never cast in a negative light, and it’s no different at the New York Times … and it’s not better at the Washington Post either,” he added.

Mediaite skews left, according to Ad Fonte Media, a public benefit corporation that ranks news outlets. According to its scale, which ranges from -42 to represent the most leftist bias and 42 to represent the most right bias, the outlet is -8.85.

The Media Research Center found that the news coverage of Trump’s first 100 days was 92% negative on ABC, CBS, and NBC networks.

THE MEDIA EFFORT TO BIDENIZE TRUMP

The Trump administration has long battled with the media. Trump notably did not attend the most recent White House Correspondents’ dinner, similar to years past. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt attempted to bar the Associated Press from her press conferences when the outlet refused to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, following Trump’s executive order renaming it.

Meanwhile, the White House may consider hiring more stenographers to transcribe Trump, as he has proven to be talkative during his time in office.
