Joe Biden fails to keep word again, this time on guns

Following the announcement of several executive actions to limit the Second Amendment, many are remembering the Biden campaign trail and his wishy-washy stance on guns.

In March 2020, Joe Biden got into a yelling match with several autoworkers over gun control measures during a campaign stop in Detroit, Michigan. He even went so far as to tell one of the workers he was “full of it” when the worker accused Biden of actively trying to diminish Second Amendment rights and take away guns.

Now, just over one year later, Biden released the first steps in his plan. Gun owners across America were shocked at Joe Biden’s attempts to restrict the Second Amendment. Following the unveiling of his executive gun control actions, many states and gun rights groups spoke up about how they miss the mark.

Alan Gottlieb, the founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, said Biden has made it clear his plan to limit Americans’ ability to make weapons at home among other measures was just the beginning. He added, the issue of regulating the so-called “ghost guns” is far more complicated than Biden made it out to be.

“The truth of the matter is that 99 percent of these firearms are legitimately made and legitimately used,” Gottlieb stated. “If they want to come up with something where people had to put serial numbers on them or something of that nature, that would be another story, but they’re really overreaching a whole lot here [by] trying to shut down people making their own firearms.”

The restrictions on pistol stabilizing braces offended a large portion of America’s population. These accessories were invented nearly ten years ago by a former marine to help disabled veterans and anyone with a handicap to more comfortably as well as safely shoot their firearms.

“There are thousands of Americans that would not be able to enjoy shooting an AR-15 [without the pistol brace],” Jimmy Saxton, general manager of Guns n Gear, stated. “For defending themselves, at their home, [the AR-15] is the number one weapon of choice for defense.”

In the meantime, Gottlieb and others said the attempts to limit Americans’ right to bear arms faces a long and hard legal battle.

“The White House has basically said it’s the first step on their own website, so we know that’s the case and we know they’re supporting other gun ban legislation in Congress,” the Second Amendment Foundation founder said. “So we’re geared up for a rather large, long fight here for the next three and a half years or so under this Biden administration.”

Meanwhile, several states have already made moves to invalidate Biden’s actions.
