President Biden Confident in Debt Ceiling Deal
“The debt ceiling deal is in good shape,” said President Joe Biden, following a tentative agreement with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Saturday.
Biden’s optimism about the process was evident as he spoke to reporters outside the White House, stating that there are no more sticking points to deal with. He even planned to call McCarthy at 3 o’clock to ensure that all the T’s were crossed and the I’s were dotted.
Progressive Democrats Plan to Support Agreement
While some progressive Democrats have expressed skepticism about the bill, they have indicated that they plan to support the agreement in order to avoid default.
