Joe Biden gambles on voters rewarding his support for Hunter

President Joe Biden Stands by His Son Amid Impeachment Inquiry

Despite facing an impeachment inquiry‌ focused on his⁢ son’s foreign business dealings, President Joe⁢ Biden has not wavered in his support for Hunter Biden. In fact, he has⁤ kept his son close by, even amidst the scrutiny.

On Monday, Joe and Hunter Biden ⁤enjoyed a lunch⁢ with friends, followed⁤ by Hunter joining the⁤ first⁢ family on Air Force One⁣ and Marine One as they returned from Delaware on Tuesday.

When questioned about the decision not to list ⁤Hunter Biden on passenger manifests,⁤ White ‍House press ⁢secretary Karine‌ Jean-Pierre dismissed any notion of hiding him, stating⁣ that it is customary for the family to travel with the president.

“That’s something that we’ve never done,” Jean-Pierre emphasized. “This⁢ is ‍the family. ⁤The family gets to travel with the president, and that’s been the case with every other president. And so‌ it’s not something⁢ that ‌we’ve done or we would be doing moving ⁤forward.”

Contrary to‍ accusations of ⁢concealment, Hunter Biden has been visible to press‌ photographers and reporters, appearing in White ⁤House ⁢pool reports. This suggests that Joe⁢ Biden is‍ unafraid to publicly embrace his son.

Throughout his presidency, Joe⁤ Biden has consistently⁢ kept Hunter Biden close and expressed his pride in ‌his son. This ‌stance remains unchanged, even‍ as Hunter⁢ faces⁣ a criminal indictment ⁤and defies a congressional subpoena.

While Republicans‌ may ‍cry foul, the larger political ‌question ⁣is how voters perceive Joe Biden’s‍ actions. Will they view him as a loving father supporting his troubled son, or will‌ they see it as an opportunity⁤ for Republicans to link the elder Biden to alleged ‍corruption?

Democratic strategist Brad Bannon believes that ‌the former will prevail.

“He’s being supportive of his son,” Bannon explained. “It’s the holiday season, families⁢ get together, and that’s no ⁣different for the ‌president of ⁢the⁢ United States. I think Republicans are overplaying their hand in this case with the impeachment inquiry, ⁤and they will live to ‍regret it.”

The lunch between Joe and⁣ Hunter Biden on Monday coincided with the anniversary of a tragic car crash‌ that claimed the lives ‌of Hunter Biden’s mother, Neilia, and ⁤his 1-year-old sister.

Regardless, Bannon suggests that most voters would prefer the ⁢GOP to focus on other issues.

“Rather than ⁣dealing with⁢ issues ‍that ‌even they feel are important, such as the economy, all Republicans⁢ can do is launch an impeachment inquiry on Joe Biden,” he remarked. “This is beginning to remind me⁤ of 1998 when the Republicans went ⁢overboard‌ on the ‍Bill ⁣Clinton impeachment ⁣and paid ‌the ‍price ⁤by losing the House.⁣ That’s where ‌they’re headed⁣ here.”

A recent ‍Fox News poll asked respondents about Hunter Biden’s treatment by ⁢the legal system. 66% believed he was being⁢ treated fairly, indicating support for his indictments.

When asked ‍about the⁤ Department of Justice’s handling of the case, 55% felt they ⁣were not tough ‌enough, while 34% considered it fair. Only 7% believed the DOJ was⁤ being⁢ too⁣ tough,⁤ further indicating support for⁢ their actions.

Nevertheless, voters may separate Hunter Biden’s⁤ alleged misdeeds, such as foreign ‍influence peddling, from his father. Hunter himself made ⁢this argument ⁣during a defiant ⁢appearance at the‌ Capitol.

“They belittled my recovery and they have tried to dehumanize me, all to embarrass my father, who has devoted his entire ⁣life to public service,” Hunter‍ Biden declared. “For six years, I have been a ⁤target of the ‌unrelenting Trump attack team. ‘Where’s Hunter?’ Well, here’s my answer. I ⁢am ‍here.”

Republican strategist John Feehery agrees that ⁣voters are more ⁤likely to sympathize with Joe Biden’s support⁤ for‍ his son rather than be repulsed by it.

“In many ⁤ways, it is quite admirable,” Feehery remarked. “Blood is and should be⁤ thicker than politics. A cynic might say ‌that the president is keeping ⁣Hunter close because he doesn’t want his son to ⁣throw him under the bus. But from a political perspective, I think most Biden supporters ⁢appreciate the loyalty.”
