Rep. Jerry Nadler Faces Backlash Over Women’s Sports Claim
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) found himself in hot water on Thursday following his controversial statement during a House hearing that “men do not compete in women’s sports.”

Nadler’s assertion came as a response to Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) presenting a list of instances where men had taken over women’s sporting events.

In an intense back-and-forth, Hageman highlighted instances of men overshadowing women’s sports, to which Nadler denied. He reiterated his stance, stating, “Men do not compete in women’s sports.”

Critics, including former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines, highlighted the case of Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer who competed against biological women in a championship.
