Jeopardy!’ host Mayim Bialik criticizes women’s groups for not speaking out against Hamas’ brutal treatment of women
Mayim Bialik Slams Women’s Organizations for Silence on Hamas’ Rape and Torture of Jewish Women
“Jeopardy!” host Mayim Bialik passionately criticized women’s organizations worldwide for their “abhorrent” silence following the rape and torture of Jewish women by Hamas in the October 7 terrorist attacks on Israel.
“There has been an abhorrent and conspicuous absence of women’s organizations around the world unequivocally condemning the systematic rape and torture of women on October 7 by Hamas,” the 47-year-old actress said in a lengthy post on X. ”Where are the ‘BELIEVE THEM’ voices?”
Bialik expressed her shock and outrage at the brutal gang rapes, sexual torture, and murder of fetuses that occurred during these attacks. She emphasized that these crimes were documented by the terrorists themselves and broadcasted for the world to witness. As someone who has fought for women’s rights, Bialik finds it astounding that the world has remained silent on this issue.
“The UN (U.N. Women - the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women) took 50 days to express ‘alarm’… First Lady of Israel Michal Herzog and Sheryl Sandberg have been trying to draw attention to this,” she added. “Progressive feminists of the world: where are you?”
Her post included a link to an op-ed from Herzog titled “The Silence From International Bodies Over Hamas’ Mass Rapes Is a Betrayal of All Women.”
When people march and assert RESISTANCE BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY, this is what they are supporting: gang rape, mutilation of women’s bodies, and torturing fetuses. I can’t believe I have to say this again: Rape is never an act of resistance. Cutting off body parts is not an act of… pic.twitter.com/020xFtV0qm

“Cutting off body parts is not an act of resistance,” she added. “This is what happened on October 7. I believe women and I believe the footage Hamas has broadcast showing sexual crimes against women. Do you?”
Bialik has previously spoken out about the rise of anti-Semitism in America, stating that there is “no excuse” for it.
“Nothing has prepared me or any of us for this,” the “Jeopardy!” host said in a video from late October. “Because it is clear, we get it. It is clear that there is a strain of antisemitism that is alive and well. It is thriving at my Alma Mater where the chant ‘We want a Jewish genocide’ was echoed in the quad in front of Royce Hall.”
Bialik, who earned her doctorate from UCLA in 2007, condemned the chanting of students from various backgrounds in support of a “Jewish genocide” on UCLA’s campus, deeming it “unacceptable.”
How did the UN Women’s delayed response to the issue of Hamas’ mass rapes disappoint Mayim Bialik and what actions does she believe need to be taken

The article, titled “The Silence From International Bodies Over Hamas’ Mass Rapes Is a Betrayal of All Women,” provides a comprehensive analysis of the lack of response from women’s groups.
Bialik called out the hypocrisy of these organizations that claim to advocate for women’s rights and empowerment but remain silent in the face of such heinous crimes. She questioned the absence of the “BELIEVE THEM” voices that are often raised in cases of sexual assault and violence against women.
The Jeopardy! host expressed her disbelief and disappointment at the UN Women’s delayed response to the issue. It took the organization 50 days to express ”alarm” over the horrifying acts committed by Hamas. Bialik also highlighted the efforts of First Lady of Israel Michal Herzog and Sheryl Sandberg in drawing attention to the issue, emphasizing that more needs to be done.
Bialik shared an op-ed by Herzog that called out the betrayal of all women by international bodies through their silence on Hamas’ mass rapes. The article shed light on the alarming human rights violation and the failure of women’s organizations to condemn these atrocities.
In a tweet, Bialik further emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating that those who march and assert resistance must understand what they are supporting—gang rape, mutilation of women’s bodies, and torturing of fetuses. She clarified that rape can never be considered an act of resistance and that cutting off body parts is in no way an act of empowerment.
Mayim Bialik’s criticism of women’s organizations for their silence on Hamas’ rape and torture of Jewish women is a reminder that advocating for women’s rights must be consistent and unwavering. It is imperative for organizations and individuals who claim to champion equality to speak out against all forms of violence and oppression. This incident serves as a call to action for women’s organizations worldwide to address the issue and support the victims who have suffered unimaginable traumas. Silence only perpetuates the cycle of violence and undermines the very principles they stand for.
