Jennifer Aniston Said She Spent Her First ‘Friends’ Paycheck On A Mercedes That Immediately Broke Down: ‘It Was A Lemon’

Jennifer Aniston recently shared how she spent her first “Friends” paycheck on a Mercedes car that she had been fancying for a while. Unfortunately, the car turned out to be a complete failure, a “lemon”.

Speaking to Popsugar as she promoted the movie “Murder Mystery 2” with Adam Sandler, the 54-year-old actress revealed that the vintage vehicle had a ‘For Sale’ sign on it for over two years along the Melrose Avenue in LA. She had been frequently passing the car and “I can’t wait. Someday,” she thought. Eventually, she bought the car for its full price without getting it checked out and realized the reason why nobody had bought it. “I bought it. And then I drove it. And then I drove it again and it never drove again,” Aniston said.

Aniston had previously shared a version of this story with InStyle’s podcast, “Ladies First with Laura Brown” in 2021.

On her experience with “Friends,” Aniston also acknowledged that modern audiences find some of the episodes offensive as they watch them. “There’s a whole generation of people, kids, who are now going back to episodes of ‘Friends’ and find them offensive,” she told the Associated Foreign Press. “Comedy has evolved, movies have evolved. Now it’s a little tricky because you have to be very careful, which makes it really hard for comedians, because the beauty of comedy is that we make fun of ourselves, make fun of life.”
