Jasmine Crockett claims the GOP prone to ‘attract violent actors’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) dismissed allegations that her party is violent and instead called the Republican Party “a violent group.”

This comes as the interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Ed Martin, is investigating Crockett over an alleged incident with a video journalist, who claimed Crockett assaulted him. While Crockett was a guest on the American Fever Dream podcast on Tuesday, she was not asked about the incident.

“They try to act like, ‘Oh, political violence,’ it’s the Democrats, and it’s the liberals,” Crockett said. “I mean, I’m not going to say that, like, a left-leaning person cannot be violent, because that would be like, crazy to say that somebody can’t be, but baby, baby, y’all got the white supremacist galore, OK? Like, all of them. You got the Proud Boys. You got — you got the neo Nazis. You have people that literally should be classified as domestic terrorists … including the KKK.”

Crockett blamed the ‘Make America Great Again’ crowd for the threats sent to Tougaloo College after she delivered the school’s May 4 commencement address.

“And most of your violence has to do with people that’s got a little bit of melanin. But nevertheless, like, you all are a violent group of — like, you attract violent actors,” Crockett said. “I’m sorry. I know they tried to make Black Lives Matter out to be the most violent, they — they — ‘Oh, what about Black Lives Matter? No, no, no.”

Tougaloo is a historically black college with fewer than 900 students that recently hosted Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), who is among the school’s alumni, and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
