James Comer defends oversight of Manhattan DA’s Trump probe

House Oversight CommitteeChairman James Comer (R-KY) defended House Republican calls for Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg to testify before the House regarding his inquiry of former President Donald Trump.

Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union, Comer asserted that the federal investigation into Trump allegedly falsifying company records in order to obtain a hush money transaction is not” local” and that it” does not have the right to be pursued in the district attorney ‘ practice.”

ALVIN BRAGG’S Evidence TO Trump IN TRUMP Way IS HIT BACK BY HOUSE REPUBLICANS.

Stay out of national studies, the DA said, adding that what he was trying to say is what you just quoted. The issue with that is that it is not a national investigation. It’s a national investigation right now. According to Comer, he is looking into a political candidate as well as the former president of the United States for an election-related violence that shouldn’t be brought up in the district attorney’s office.

However for Mr. Bragg, he doesn’t have the luxury of deciding whether or not to agree with congressional because because, in order to try to sue someone that, obviously, should be handled by the Department of Justice on the national level if there was a reason for doing so. Comer continued.

The chairman of the House Oversight Committee also cautioned against the unfavorable law that Trump’s trial might create by subjecting other candidates for federal office to unjustified accusations.

” If you crack empty this worm you.” Here is what will take place. County attorneys in dark areas, in rural Kentucky, where I live, are going to begin attempting to meddle in the national elections. This is something that should be looked into or prosecuted. The Department of Justice do handle it on a national level. This is a candidate for president, Comer said.

Comer reiterated calls for Bragg to testify but would not say whether he or other House Republican leaders, including Chairman Jim Jordan of the House Judiciary Committee( R-OH ), would subpoena him. The Kentucky Republican claims that the House GOP wants to know whether or not the Trump investigation is politically motivated.

In order to determine whether Trump fabricated business records, prosecutors in New York City have listed a$ 130,000 reimbursement of his then-law Michael Cohen for paying off porn star Stormy Daniels to remain silent in 2016 while he was running for president.
