Jaden Smith Cheers On Dad After He Slapped Chris Rock At Oscars
Rapper and actor Jaden Smith cheered on his father Will Smith after he slapped comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards in a viral tweet.
“And That’s How We Do It,” Jaden posted to Twitter at 11:11 p.m. on Sunday night. Mere hours later, the tweet garnered a stunning 740,000 likes. The tweet came after Smith’s altercation with Rock and best actor win.

Smith slapped an unsuspecting Rock while he was on stage at the Oscars over a mild crack about Smith’s wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith. Daily Wire entrainment writer Katie Jerkovich reported on the incident:
“Jada, I love ya,” Rock told the audience. “G.I. Jane 2 movie, can’t wait to see it.”
The “Red Table Talk” host rolled her eyes and appeared to be upset.
Her husband, the “King Richard” star, looked like he too did not appreciate what appeared to be a remark about his wife’s alopecia battle.
The superstar actor got up out of his seat, walked right up on stage, and struck the comedian in the face. It didn’t appear to be a planned move.
“Will Smith just smacked the s*** outta me,” Rock told the audience after the assault.
“Keep my wife’s name out your f***ing mouth!” Smith yelled back at Rock, overcome with emotion.
“Wow, dude. It was a G.I. Jane joke,” the comedian said, before turning back to the award show.
Smith sparked reaction online following the assault, and not just from his son Jaden. The Daily Wire highlighted some of the reaction, which including rips on Smith for his “privilege” and commentary on Will and Jada’s notoriously open marriage.
“Pretty sure that any normal human being who walked on stage during an awards show and slapped a man in the face in front of thousands of people would be in handcuffs within 15 seconds of the assault,” Daily Wire podcast host and author Matt Walsh wrote.
C.J. Pearson reacted, “Will Smith’s marriage is open to EVERYTHING except jokes.”
Jaden has made news in the past for apparently engaging in Left-wing gender theory. He has posed in so-called non-gender specific skirts for high-fashion modeling agencies, for example.
In an interview with Teen Vogue in 2016, sister Willow Smith, then 15, discussed her symbiotic relationship with her bother Jaden.
“We’re like binary stars, like two parts of one thing,” she said. “I know what he’s thinking at all times. And he knows what I’m thinking. We’re not identical twins, but it feels like that in a lot of ways.”
