Iran war is ‘us taking out the trash’: Tiana Lowe Doescher
tiana Lowe Doescher, an economics columnist for the *Washington Examiner*, argued on Fox News that the U.S.is acting against Iran for reasons tied to Iran-backed attacks-specifically citing the killing of 42 Americans by Iranian-funded Hamas on Oct. 7. She criticized Illinois Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh for downplaying the conflict’s relevance and for characterizing U.S. actions as inappropriate.
The article contrasts this with Democrats’ broader criticism of the Iran war, who say the U.S. should not be involved. It notes that both President Donald Trump and Iran have made peace proposals, and that Trump said the U.S. may pause further negotiations unless iran accepts an offer that benefits the U.S.
In response to Abughazaleh’s claim that seized vessels amounted to “piracy,” Doescher said the ships targeted were sanctioned and therefore not piracy. the piece also mentions that Abughazaleh had generated controversy as political content creators entered politics, and that she lost the Illinois Democratic primary on March 17, before ending with Doescher’s assertion that the U.S. is helping “for the rest of the world” by confronting Iran.
Washington Examiner economics columnist Tiana Lowe Doescher argued that the United States is “taking out the trash” with the Iran war, and criticized Democratic Illinois congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh for her stance on the conflict.
“I know Kat and her friends like to believe that this is Israel making us do this, but I think it’s important to remember that the Iranian-funded Hamas killed 42 Americans on Oct. 7,” Doescher said on Fox News at Night on Friday.
