‘I’m Very Proud Of You’: Elon Musk’s Ex-Wife Tweets About Son Who Had Gender, Name Legally Changed

Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk‘s ex-wife on Monday tweeted out support for the former couple’s 18-year-old biological son, who identifies as female.

A Los Angeles judge this week granted the teen’s name and gender change request. Xavier Musk is now legally Vivian Jenna Wilson, named after the teen’s mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson, and can identify as female. The teen will reportedly receive a new birth certificate with the gender marked as female.

On Monday, Wilson, who uses her married name on Twitter, posted a conversation she had with her child, TMZ reported:

“I had a weird childhood,” my 18 year old said to me. “I can’t believe I’m as normal-seeming as I am.” I said, “I’m very proud of you.” “I’m proud of myself!”

“The proud mother’s tweet dropped right after the story broke about Vivian’s desire” for a name-change, TMZ reported. “What’s interesting about Justine’s very public support is that Vivian’s made it clear she’s got beef with Elon.”

According to reporting from Newsweek, the teen said in court documents that he doesn’t want to “live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”

“Gender Identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” the teen cited as reason for the gender and name-change request.

Earlier this month, Musk commented on gender and sex in response to a review of Matt Walsh’s documentary “What is a Woman?“, which challenges radical gender theory.

“We are simultaneously being told that gender differences do not exist and that genders are so profoundly different that irreversible surgery is the only option,” the world’s richest man commented via Twitter. “Perhaps someone wiser than me can explain this dichotomy.”

And in 2020, Musk posted to Twitter, “Pronouns suck.”

The SpaceX CEO was then chastised by his then-partner Grimes, real name Claire Elise Boucher. “I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic]. I cannot support hate. Please stop this. I know this isn’t your heart,” she tweeted in reply to Musk.

The 50-year-old has become a fixture in the news — for his tweets and otherwise.

Earlier this week, The Daily Wire reported that Twitter’s board recommended shareholders green-light the company’s proposed $44 billion sale to Musk.

“Although Musk told Twitter employees last week he plans to move forward with the purchase, he said in a virtual interview at the Qatar Economic Forum Tuesday the merger would need to see three issues resolved before following through with the transaction,” The Daily Wire noted.
