‘I’m Giving You Actual Facts’: Candace Owens Blasts Affirmative Action In Appearance On ‘Dr. Phil’

During an appearance on” Dr. Phil” on Wednesday, Daily Wire host Candace Owens criticized affirmative action policies as” harmful” and demeaning.

Owens challenged the conventional wisdom that affirmative action benefits minority by speaking alongside two professors who were defending the contentious coverage. Instead, she claimed that these laws were nothing more than a” burden of responsibility” for the Left and frequently had the opposite effect.

According to Owens,” when a black American is deliberately enrolled in school where they do not belong based on their knowledge, it does not follow that they go on to receive A’s.” She continued,” In truth, there was a dark alternative doctor, Dr. Thomas Sowell, who was teaching at Cornell University, and he discovered that the majority of the dark American students there were on intellectual supervision. You individuals have definitely heard of him.”

Owens continued by saying that despite being some of the smartest students in the country, these individuals ended up on academic parole as a result of being placed in positions they weren’t supposed to be in. According to her, politicians or officials who claimed victory for coverage that just made people” feel good” were frequently the visible beneficiaries of affirmative action rather than successful immigrants.

In actuality, Owens claimed that proponents of affirmative action frequently cause harm to the very people that the laws claim to assist. You either know the answers or you don’t, she concluded.

The University of Southern California’s chief scientific officer and associate of the screen, Dr. John Pascarella, argued in favor of affirmative action for” institutions that have previously excluded people of color.”

When Pascarella and others claim that affirmative action is” objectively, in effect, a good thing for the black community ,” Owens questioned how he could hold that opinion. The professor responds by asking if civilization is the only factor in success.

Owens added that judging on significance is the true” equal plan” for individuals, not affirmative actions, and that” no, it’s due to their intellectual powers, which is how individuals may be judged.”

Sometimes the concept of affirmative action, according to Owens, was demeaning because those who supported it effectively believed that minorities couldn’t accomplish certain goals without assistance from primarily white benefactors.

Sasha and Malia Obama shouldn’t be admitted to colleges or universities on a higher foundation than white girls who have worked harder than them because they have struggled, according to Owens.

San Diego State University professor Dr. J. Luke Wood rebuffed Owens’ remarks, claiming that recipients of affirmative action may have performed poorly as a result of their interactions with the associations.

Owens retorted,” You’re saying it could be, but I’m giving you the truth.” We may imagine that they might simply not look great, but that is not the case.

We’re discussing a social issue, what’s happening at home, as it did in my situation, Owens said. ” Institutional plan is not the cause of any of that.”
