ICE sets record in August with most-ever illegal immigrants arrested
In August, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a record-high number of illegal immigrants, with 50,925 apprehensions-the highest monthly total ever, surpassing previous records from June and July. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin highlighted that this marked the third consecutive month of record-breaking arrests,part of a broader crackdown initiated by the White House,including operations like “Operation Rotten Apple” targeting New York. The administration is fulfilling its promise to intensify immigration enforcement, with roughly 1 million illegal immigrants deported and 2 million self-deported under the Trump administration. Additionally, ICE offers voluntary departure options with financial incentives, such as flights out of the country and $3,000 for those choosing to leave voluntarily. The administration emphasizes that efforts are ongoing to arrest and deport those in the country illegally, reflecting a firm stance on immigration enforcement.
President Donald Trump’s deportation machine reached a new milestone in August as Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested more illegal immigrants nationwide than any previous month.
The Department of Homeland Security announced late Wednesday that ICE took 50,925 people into custody last month. The figure surpassed the July record of 50,208 and the previous record of 43,900 set in June.

“For the third straight month, ICE set a new record for the highest number of illegal aliens arrested in a single month, nearly 51,000. This is promises made and promises kept in action,” Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement.
The record month included many arrests during ICE’s Operation Rotten Apple, the White House’s promised crackdown across New York state.
The White House has fulfilled its promise to surge ICE into the sanctuary state and go after illegal immigrants who were released from jail and prison.
Mullin on Tuesday said federal immigration authorities had taken 2,197 illegal immigrants off the street over a 33-day period that ran from July 27 through Aug. 29.
The Trump administration is following through on one of Trump’s key campaign promises to deliver the “largest-ever” deportation operation in national history.
To date, roughly 1 million illegal immigrants have been removed from the United States by ICE, while an additional 2 million have self-deported, according to DHS.

The Trump administration continues to offer illegal immigrants a free flight out of the country and a $3,000 payment for voluntarily leaving.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, ICE is working around the clock every day to arrest and deport illegal aliens from American communities,” Mullin said. “If you are in the country illegally, LEAVE NOW. If not, we will find you, arrest you, and deport you.”
