Biden’s First 2024 Rally: ‘I Need You Urgently’

President Biden’s Rally in Philadelphia: Winning Back Working-Class Voters

President Joe Biden held an electrifying political rally in Philadelphia, marking his first since announcing his reelection campaign in April. The event aimed to reconnect with white working-class voters, and it was a resounding success.

This is the first time ever, Biden said, that the AFL-CIO union has endorsed a candidate so early in the race.

“For the first time I’m aware of, the AFL-CIO endorsed this early and every union, as well. Because we’re coming together,” Biden said at the beginning of his speech.

“I’m more honored by your endorsement than you can imagine. Coming this early, it’s going to make a gigantic difference in this campaign.”

Biden has always been a staunch supporter of labor unions, positioning himself as the most pro-union president in American history. However, concerns have arisen regarding his handling of the nation’s economy, particularly among blue-collar workers who have experienced high inflation without corresponding wage growth.

“If the investment bankers in this country went on strike tomorrow, no one would notice it,” Biden said. “But if this room didn’t show up for work tomorrow, the whole country would come to a grinding halt.”

Biden took the opportunity to highlight his legislative victories, emphasizing the creation of 13 million new jobs and 100,000 manufacturing jobs. He also pointed out that inflation has been decreasing over the past 11 months.

“It’s about building an economy literally, not figuratively, from the bottom up and the middle out, not the top down,” Biden said.

The phrase “building the economy from the bottom-up and middle-out” has become a mantra for Biden. He firmly believes that national prosperity does not trickle down from the wealthy, but rather stems from a thriving middle class that drives sustainable growth and prosperity.

“You’ve carried the country on your back. You’ve carried long enough,” Biden passionately expressed during his speech. “It’s time for millionaires and billionaires and big corporations to pay their fair share. I can get that done, but I need your support.”
