Mac Isaac initially sued Hunter Biden in October 2022, accusing him of defamation. In response, Hunter Biden countersued, claiming that Mac Isaac violated his privacy by sharing the laptop’s contents.

The lawsuit from the repair shop owner alleges that Hunter Biden’s repeated denials of owning the laptop caused damage to Mac Isaac’s reputation and livelihood, according to the New York Post.

Mac Isaac was deposed last month as part of Hunter Biden’s countersuit.

According to Mac Isaac, the laptop was dropped off at his store in April 2019 by a man he believed to be Hunter Biden. However, the laptop was never picked up. After examining its contents, Mac Isaac contacted the FBI, who later seized the computer.

In November, Mac Isaac shared his experience with the FBI when they came to collect the laptop. He expressed his excitement about being handed a subpoena, jokingly telling the agents that he would change their names in his future book. However, one agent’s response about the consequences of discussing the laptop was chilling, leading Mac Isaac to change the agent’s name in his book, which detailed the laptop controversy.

According to a transcript from IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley’s deposition, the FBI informed the IRS in December 2019 that the laptop might contain evidence of tax crimes. Hunter Biden recently reached a plea deal admitting to not paying taxes and will receive probation.

Shapley stated that the FBI verified the laptop’s authenticity in November 2019 by matching the device number with Hunter Biden’s Apple iCloud ID. This timeline contradicts the discredited claim that the laptop’s contents were Russian disinformation.

Furthermore, the Justice Department confirmed that the laptop was not manipulated in any way. However, during a meeting between the IRS and Department of Justice officials, investigators were denied access to the laptop, which Shapley described as unprecedented.

The transcript also revealed that prosecutors provided guidance to avoid investigating anything related to President Biden, raising concerns about potential evidence of other criminal activity involving Hunter Biden or President Biden.
