Hunter Biden will not attend the March 20 House GOP hearing, despite his previous request for a public forum
Hunter Biden Declines House Oversight Committee Hearing
Hunter Biden has refused to appear before the House Oversight Committee for a public hearing scheduled for March 20. This comes as Republicans continue their impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
In a letter sent to Chairman James Comer (R-KY), Hunter Biden’s legal counsel explained that he would not be attending the public hearing. The lawyer cited a court hearing in California as one reason for his absence, but also criticized the Republicans for their “planned-for-media” event.
“To begin, even if that hearing was a legitimate exercise of congressional authority, neither Mr. Biden nor I can attend because of a biden-tries-to-hide-visible-anger-after-doocy-asks-about-granddaughter/” title=”Watch: Joe Biden’s Attempt to Conceal Anger When Questioned About Granddaughter by Doocy”>court hearing the very next day in California,” wrote Abbe David Lowell, Hunter Biden’s attorney. ”The scheduling conflict is the least of the issues, however.”
“Your blatant planned-for-media event is not a proper proceeding but an obvious attempt to throw a Hail Mary pass after the game has ended,” Lowell added.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
