Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, announced he’s releasing chapters about the past seven years of his life on Substack.

Biden made the announcement Thursday on X.

“Over on Substack I’m writing about the last seven years of my life. It’s the first draft of the whole story. All of it,” Biden said.

“I’ll be releasing chapters every few days, along with ‘Where’s Hunter?’ a video series exclusive to Substack.”

Biden posted an excerpt in the post, called “The Laptop.” The controversy surrounding Biden’s laptop started when he dropped it off at a computer store. Data on the computer revealed years of text messages, business deals, photos, and more.

Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s personal attorney during his first presidency, exclusively told the Washington Examiner in 2020 that Biden allegedly engaged in potentially criminal sexual behavior for years, while family members knew about it and tried to stop him.

Giuliani at the time showed the Washington Examiner sexually explicit photographs on a laptop, which appeared to be of Biden and various adult women. Giuliani did not provide the Washington Examiner with evidence to support his allegations of criminality.

Biden addressed the laptop in his post.

“They called it the laptop. I will call it that too, although the name is not accurate, the provenance was never established, and no court or forensic examiner ever certified the chain of custody that would have made it evidence rather than theater,” Biden wrote. “I will call it the laptop because by now the word belongs to something larger than a piece of hardware. It belongs to a story they needed me to confirm, and I am done letting them tell it.”

Biden said the contents of his laptop contained messages that didn’t “belong to anyone sober.”

“It is accumulation, the slow daily work of an addict doing the thing that is killing him because the alternative feels like dying faster,” Biden said.

Biden has been open about his past struggles with drug abuse. In 2014, he was discharged from the Navy Reserve after failing a drug test, and he has since sought treatment.

In 2021, Biden released a book, titled Beautiful Things, in which he discussed his drug addiction.

“What I will not do is accept their lies. Because a record of what is on it, or more precisely, what was not, exists,” Biden wrote in his X post.
