How The Daily Wire Is Pushing Back Against Woke Publishers

If you listen to the legacy media, police are systemically racist, riots are mostly peaceful, and America is a discriminatory country responsible for every inequality of outcome.

That’s the message in the Kyle Rittenhouse story. The media began with a simple lie: that Jacob Blake of Kenosha, Wisconsin was an innocent shot by racist police officers. That was simply untrue. The police had a warrant out for felony third-degree sexual assault and misdemeanor trespassing and disorderly conduct for allegedly sexually assaulting his girlfriend. When Blake arrived at her home, she called the police. The police arrived; Blake refused to surrender, and refused to disarm himself of a knife he was carrying. When he reached into his car, he was shot. Justifiably.

The first lie, though, generated riots in Kenosha. 

The media then told its second lie: that the riots in Kenosha were “mostly peaceful.” It is difficult to describe millions of dollars in property damage, arson, and looting as “mostly peaceful.” Somehow, the media continued to push that lie.

That lie necessitated a third lie: the lie that anyone who opposed the rioters was part of America’s systemically racist system. This lie was told by Joe Biden’s campaign; in September 2020, he ran an ad linking Rittenhouse with white supremacists.

The narrative thus argued that Kyle Rittenhouse went to Kenosha, Wisconsin in order to shoot innocent people. That was the fourth lie.

Rittenhouse, by his own account before any violence, was there to protect private property and provide medical aid to the wounded. Instead, he was chased down by Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, a convicted pedophile; when Rosenbaum grabbed for Rittenhouse’s gun, Rittenhouse shot him in self defense. Rittenhouse, afraid of a mob that was began chasing him, ran down the street. He stumbled and fell. That’s when Anthony Huber, 26, jumped on him with a skateboard, attempting to beat his head in. Huber had been convicted of two felony counts of strangulation and suffering after pulling a knife on his brother and grandmother and choking his brother. Rittenhouse shot and killed him in self-defense. Then, 27-year-old Gaige Grosskreutz, a member of an Antifa-associated violent group, approached Rittenhouse, his gun unholstered. As he raised it, Rittenhouse shot him in the biceps.

All of this was caught on tape.

But the media had to continue to promulgate its lies. Which led to the fifth lie: that any acquittal of Rittenhouse was merely evidence
