The House of Representatives unanimously voted to declassify any information about COVID-19’s origins.

The bill was approved by 419 votes on Friday. The bill was passed by all but 16 lawmakers.  Just days after a similar bill was unanimously passed by the Senate, this vote is now being taken. The information will be made available to the Director of National Intelligence if President Joe Biden approves it.

Right after the bill was passed, Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo. Sen. Josh Hawley (R.Mo.) sent a note to China’s President Xi Jinpin announcing its passage.

“Time is up. Come clean about your role in spreading COVID to the world,” Hawley stated this in a tweet.

It has been disputed how COVID-19 got to humans.  Leading scientists differ on whether COVID-19 was naturally transmitted from infected animals to humans or if it was escaped from a Wuhan, China lab.

Multiple reports by the FBI have stated that the pandemic probably began with a Wuhan lab accident.

“The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan,” Christopher Wray is the director of Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

The FBI director has also been critical of Beijing’s propagation of division within the ranks of U.S. government.

“Here you are talking about a potential leak from a Chinese government-controlled lab,” Wray stated this in a Fox News interview. “I will just make the observation that the Chinese government, it seems to me, has been doing its best to try to thwart and obfuscate the work here, the work that we’re doing, the work that our U.S. government and close foreign partners are doing. And that’s unfortunate for everybody,”

While President Biden has not yet indicated that he would veto the bill bill, it is possible that the bill will pass and become law.
