House Dems Intent to Sit on All GOP Select Committees

The House Democrats will fully participate in the selection committees created by the Republican majority. Investigate the Biden AdministrationA new subcommittee of the judiciary on the alleged has been established. “weaponization” of the FBI, and other arms against American citizens.

“We call that the tinfoil hat committee in our caucus,” House Democratic Caucus D-Calif., Chairman Rep. Pete Aguilar said Tuesday. Aguilar stated Tuesday that Democrats will not boycott any new GOP-led Committees as Republicans did with their Jan. 6 Committee. 

“It is our intent to seat members on every subcommittee, every select committee, every subcommittee that the leadership on the majority side advances,” He spoke to reporters at a news conference. “It’s in our best interests to make sure we are representing the will of the caucus and the American public, and that Republicans don’t have an opportunity behind closed doors to shape and to add to these conspiracy theories that is not in the interest of the American public.” 

Tuesday’s vote by the House of Representatives was 221-211 in favor of establishing a Subcommittees selected by the new judiciary on the Weaponization the Federal Government. The new Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), will lead the committee. It will have 13 members.

JORDAN WANTS TESTIMONY FROM GARLAND & WRAY, OTHERS INSIDE HOUSE JUDICIARY PROBES of DOJ, FBI

The panel is expected to investigate not only how the executive branch has gathered information on citizens, but how it has worked with other bodies – including private sector companies – to “facilitate action against American citizens.”

Republicans accuse Democrats of working with social media companies in order to censor conservatives. Democrats deny this claim, calling it conspiracy theories.

Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), House Speaker, also voted on the creation Select Committee on China CompetitionThe measure was passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 365 to 65. The committee will “investigate and submit policy recommendations on the status of the Chinese Communist Party’s economic, technological, and security progress and its competition with the United States.” 

The China committee was supported by bipartisanship, but Democrats have condemned GOP’s plans for a probe into COVID-19’s history and an ongoing Jan. 6 investigation.

“None of these issues that they are advancing have anything to do with lowering costs that Americans are facing,” Aguilar spoke. “This is all about campaign promises and a secret three-page document that none of us have seen. That was the path for Kevin McCarthy to become speaker. And so we’re going to continue to do the business of the people each and every step of the way.”
