House Democrats tout ‘record’ $12.3 million fundraising haul in February

THouse Campaign Arm Democrats The organization announced it received $12.3 Million in donations for February. This brings its war chest up to $21.3 Million.

The fundraising record was broken by last month’s showing “all previous February off-year totals by over $1 million,” According to Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffreys (D-NY) helped raise over $9.3 million, Per Punchbowl News.

“With two months of inaction and chaos under their belts, voters can already see that House Republicans are incapable of governing and tackling the actual issues families face — a clear contrast to House Democrats,” Suzan DelBene, DCCC Chair, stated in a Statement.  

The DCCC raised $3.5 million more than its GOP counterpart, National Republican Congressional Committee in January. This was after it had raised $8 million more than the NRCC’s $4.5million. According The DCCC.

The February fundraising totals of the NRCC aren’t yet publically available. However, $11.7 million was raised by the group in February 2013 during an election year.

“Thanks to the steady leadership of Hakeem Jeffries and our entire Democratic caucus, the DCCC has broken yet another fundraising record, and voters are showing they are ready to restore a House Democratic majority in 2024,” DelBene also added.

Jeffries, who took over from Rep. Nancy Pelosi earlier in the year, introduced him to a host of top Democratic donors in California in Jan.

Democrats were keen to capture the House, after Republicans claimed a thin majority in the 2022 cycle.
