Rep. Robert Garcia Criticizes Rep. Dean Phillips for Challenging President Biden
“I’m looking forward to Dean getting beat tonight and dropping out soon. His disrespect for the President and the leader of our party is such a reversal from the man I met during my freshman orientation. Hate to see it,” Garcia said in a post on X.
In a recent clip, Phillips warned that “Joe Biden is going to get creamed” by Trump and shared his conversations with Trump supporters who expressed frustration with the lack of attention they receive. Garcia, a strong supporter of Biden, has previously criticized Phillips for his comments on Vice President Kamala Harris. Despite their differences, Phillips acknowledged positive experiences with Harris.
Phillips Calls His Party “Completely Delusional”
During an interview on CNN This Morning, Phillips reiterated his observations of Trump supporters and expressed his belief that his party is “completely delusional” regarding the current state of the presidential race.
“I met probably 50 Trump people waiting in line, every single one of them thoughtful, hospitable, friendly, all of them so frustrated that they feel nobody’s listening to them but Donald Trump. A diverse crowd, people who had never been to a Trump event before. My party is completely delusional right now,” Phillips said.
Phillips faces an uphill battle in his challenge against Biden, with the New Hampshire Democratic primary being his best opportunity to compete as Biden is not on the ballot in the Granite State.
