House Democrat Assaulted In Elevator Of DC Apartment Building
According to her office, a House Democrat was attacked in her Washington, D.C. apartment on Thursday morning.
Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) “defended herself from the attacker and suffered bruising, but is otherwise physically okay,” Her team released a statement.
The congresswoman’s office said Craig called 911 and the assailant fled the scene.
“There is no evidence that the incident was politically motivated,” Her office was added.
Craig thanked D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and noted that the congresswoman was also quick to respond. “asks for privacy at this time.”
