Home Depot’s Bernie Marcus Endorses Harmeet Dhillon For RNC Chair

Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot and a firm supporter for former President Trump, has endorsed Harmeet Dalton to be the next chairwoman, Republican National Committee.

Dhillon is running to replace Ronna Romney McDaniel who was heavily criticised after the GOP’s poor performance in 2020 and 2022.

“I am supporting Harmeet Dhillon to become the next chairwoman of the RNC because America’s path forward is at stake,” Marcus wrote. “Harmeet Dhillon is a fighter in our courts, in the media, and elsewhere. The RNC needs someone with her real-world experience, tenacity and toughness. Please join me in supporting Harmeet Dhillon for RNC Chairwoman.”

Wow! I’m incredibly honored to have Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus’s support for RNC chair! He is one the most important, loyal and prolific donors to the conservative movement. If elected chair, I have pledged to raise & spend donor funds with the utmost care and integrity.🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/ScvAfX4ehs

“There is a dispute in our party between grassroots activists who believe that voting early lets the other side know how many votes you have,” Dillon spoke with Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro in an interview. “I think in reality, the Democrats were able to elect virtually unelectable candidates like [Pennsylvania Senator-elect] John Fetterman, like [Arizona Governor-elect] Katie Hobbs, because they knew that no matter what the quality of the candidate was, they were going to get those votes.

“We need to do that,” Dhillon said. “And as I tell grassroots leaders, our message needs to be until we can elect a legislature and a governor who will sign on to the legislatures’ tightened up voting laws, we must beat the Democrats at their own game.”

In late December, Marcus, who along with his business partner Arthur Blank built Home Depot into a giant financial success, slammed Americans who don’t want to work.

Marcus, who Bloomberg estimates has a net worth of $5.25 billion but has, with his wife, donated over $2 billion to over 500 organizations through their Marcus Foundation, spoke in an interview Financial Times

“I’m worried about capitalism,” Marcus stated. “Capitalism is the basis of Home Depot [and] millions of people have earned this success and had success. I’m talking manufacturers, vendors and distributors and people that work for us [who have been] able to enrich themselves by the journey of Home Depot. That’s the success. That’s why capitalism works.”

Marcus said that thanks to “socialism,” “nobody works. Nobody gives a damn. ‘Just give it to me. Send me money. I don’t want to work — I’m too lazy, I’m too fat, I’m too stupid.’”

Marcus wasn’t worried about any criticism he might elicit about his comments, especially from those he termed “woke.” He declared, “We used to have free speech here. We don’t have it. The woke people have taken over the world. You know, I imagine today they can’t attack me. I’m 93. Who gives a crap about Bernie Marcus?”

Marcus reserved his harsh criticism for people who are wealthy but still sit on their wealth. “Too timid to jump in, these are people who took great risks in whatever they did, but they’re afraid to take this risk [to get] into the charitable world and help other people. Why, I don’t know,” He stated.

Marcus, who supported Trump in the past and donated to Trump as well as Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis’s campaigns, called President Biden “the worst president in the history of this country.” He called Trump’s policies “spot on,” but added, “It’s going to be very interesting in ‘24 because I think that DeSantis will challenge him. And may the better man win.”
